Cheryl has created the Solo, Duo, Trio Signup Genius for this season. Click here to access the Signup Genius.

Right now, Cheryl has slots available. She will add slots for Madison in a few days.

Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.

You may only sign up for one slot each time new dates are posted. After a week, you may check again and sign up for one more open slot if available.  

Dancers, please remember the following:

• Please bring your music to the private lesson.
• Please bring payment ($35 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl or Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
• If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
• As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

Our Showcase Chairs and committee members have been busy planning for our exciting Showcase this year.  We are excited to announce that Duluth High School has been secured as our Showcase venue, with shows planned for February 18 and 19, 2023.

The show dates and times are: Saturday, February 18 at 4:00pm, and Sunday, February 19 at 1:00pm. (Please note that show times are mostly solid but could change slightly).

Venue:  Duluth High School, 3737 Brock Rd NW, Duluth, GA 30096 

Below are important notes about Showcase 2023:

• Tickets will go on pre-sale beginning January 10, 2023.  Each member/family is required to sell or purchase at least 10 tickets between the 2 shows. More details to come in the coming months.
• Dancer gifts will be available for pre-sale in January.
• There will be a short intermission in each show, where concessions will be sold.
• Each season, the interest to perform a solo, duo and/or trio continues to growth within Vibe. We are proud to see so many dancers who want to showcase their talents increase each season.  This year, in an effort to provide a comfortable length show for our guests, only high school senior dancers will perform their solo at Showcase.  Each senior dancer will perform their solo in each show.  If there is a duo or trio with ALL senior dancers, they will perform that routine in each show as well.

Compeition #4 on the weekend of April 28 – 30, 2023 which was originally shown as TBD has been updated.  We will attend Energy National Dance Competition in Carollton, GA.

General reminders for booking hotel accommodations for this season:

• BOOK YOUR ROOM ASAP.  If you don’t book a room now, you risk paying full price or potentially not having accommodations.
• The full competition schedules are received 7-10 days prior to the event.  At that time, you can call and adjust/cancel your reservations.   It is ALWAYS easier to eliminate a night from a hotel stay of an existing reservation.  You will note that it is general policy of hotels to allow cancellations of nights.  However, make sure you ask about the all cancellation policies when booking your reservations.

With many dancers and some teachers visiting Helen’s grave to remember her on the anniversary of her passing, as well as several homecoming games have been rescheduled to Thursday night, the dance schedule for Thursday 9/29 is being adjusted.

Our Hotel Logistics team has been busy securing hotel options for our out of town regional competitions…thank you, Trisha Urrea and Heather Biscan, for all of your hard work! 

Please click here to be directed to the Competition Hotel webpage.   Please read the Regional Competition Hotels PDF document carefully.  There is a lot of information being communicated about each option listed in this document.  Make sure you review each hotel’s cancellation policy as you are booking the reservation.

IMPORTANT NOTES:  We were not able to secure group rates for all hotel options. We are not able to secure a block of 65+ rooms at these rates at each hotel…hotels will not allow us to do that. We have smaller blocks of rooms secured at each hotel, some of which are noted as a maximum of 15 rooms on a first come, first served basis. If a special group rate is listed as a booking option and you can not secure the rate for a hotel, please email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com, (include which hotel and rate), and we will get that information to our Hotel Logistics committee for review with the hotel. 

If additional group rates are secured, we will update the document and send out an updated blog post.

• We have volunteer spots still available for our Parents’ Night Out event on Friday, September 30 from 6-9pm. 
  • Dancers: Please consider helping out…we need a few more dancer volunteers (age 13+) to assist with the event. This is a great way to earn some volunteer hours!  Click here to access the VOLUNTEER sign-up for Parents Night Out.
  • Everyone: Please feel free to pass on info about the event to your friends and neighbors (ages 3-11)!   Dancing, games, crafts, pizza, a movie and a few hours for yourself! Click here – Use this link to signup to have your child ATTEND the event.  
•  Cheryl needs to know by end of day TODAY if your dancer wants to attend Nuvo Dance Convention.  This is an optional convention that will take place at the Loews Hotel in Atlanta on Jan 25-27. Click here to fill out the brief questionnaire to let Cheryl know if your dancer is interested in participating.  If we do not have a response by end of day today your dancer will not be registered.
