Competition Tights & Makeup!

1. TIGHTS: The Competition Tights List has been updated for this upcoming season. Click Here to access the Shoe & Tight Buying Guide web page. EACH GROUP should review the spreadsheet to see what type and color of tights your dancer needs. Please purchase these ASAP, so you have them in hand for dress rehearsals.

  • It is recommended that each dancer have at least 3 pairs of each style of tights on hand at all times as rips, runs and tears are common!
  •  Please make sure that you check the correct dance group for your dancer, and also make sure you are choosing the correct color of tights to purchase.
  • Other costume/tights selections are still being finalized for some groups since costumes are still being delivered. We will add other tights selections to the list as soon as they are known. We will send out another blog post when we have updates

2. HAIR & MAKEUP DAY: Weekend of Feb 1-3 (exact time TBD) at the Studio. REMINDER: This is for NEW MEMBERS only and is mandatory for BOTH mom and dancer.

3. COMPETITION MAKEUP:

  • New members: Cheryl has pre-purchased competition makeup for all new members.  Makeup kits being ordered will be given to you at Hair/Makeup day and will include an eyeshadow/blush palette, lipstick & clear gloss. Your account will be billed for makeup charges.
  • Returning members, We will be using the same makeup palette and red lipstick as last year with the addition of a clear gloss which has already been ordered for you ($16 will be billed to your account). Please take an honest assessment of your dancer’s make-up from last year.  Make sure they have the eyeshadow and blush palette as well as the REBEL red lipstick.  If either of these are missing, Cheryl will have a few lipsticks available to purchase or you can order a replacement palette here: Click to Order Replacement Palette 

4. ITEMS NEEDED FOR COMPETITION: Click here to read through the “Items Needed for Competition” document (which has also has been posted to the Member Information section of the website).  Please make sure you review this document ASAP.  For new members, we know this list may look ‘large’, so feel free to reach out to your group mom should you have questions regarding any items on the list.

NRG Dance Convention Details

Information is now available regarding the upcoming NRG Dance Convention in Atlanta on the weekend of January 25-26please CLICK HERE TO READ ALL VIBE DETAILS ABOUT NRG!  

*Please note the actual schedule for the Atlanta Workshop will not be posted until the Jan 20th.  Schedule on the NRG Dance Convention document is based on a sample schedule, which should be fairly similar to the actual schedule, however, start/end times could vary slightly.  We will update the blog with updated times once they are available.

To Do’s for NRG:

  1. SIGN THE WAIVERThis IS A REQUIRED document that must be signed in order for your dancer to participate at NRG, so it must be signed digitally by THIS Wednesday, January 15.  Click here to access the link to sign the NRG My Dancer waiver.  Link is also included in the NRG document on the web page above. Once you have electronically signed the waiver, you will receive an email confirmation asking you to click a link to CONFIRM YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.  Please make sure you finish this step to complete the waiver submission process. 
  2. CHAPERONE. If you are available to chaperone the event (we need 8 chaperones each day to cover all age groups), please Click here to access the SignUp Genius to sign up to chaperone.  You can also access the Signup Genius in the NRG document linked on the web page above.
  3. CARPOOL. Your Group Mom will be coordinating the transportation plan for your group to and from the Hotel (groups generally car pool).  We find that having the group mom coordinate this for each team works out best for the team.  She will be in touch soon with planning.

2025 Vibe Showcase Show Order & Ticket Sales Info

The show dates and times are: Saturday, February 15 at 4:00pm, and Sunday, February 16 at 1:00pm. 

Venue:  Duluth High School, 3737 Brock Rd NW, Duluth, GA 30096 

Showcase Ticket Sales Information

Tickets are $25 online sales, via our ticketing website, and $30 per ticket on the day of the show (to be sold at the venue).

Each Vibe family is required to sell, purchase or donate at least 10 tickets or $250 to Showcase (between the 2 shows) per Vibe Member Contract. Remember to place your dancer’s name into the “Dancer’s Name” field during the Checkout process (at the time of purchase) since we are tracking # of tickets sold by dancer family.

Last season we implemented a change to the ticket purchasing process to reduce buying unused or unwanted tickets to simply meet the 10 ticket requirement per the Vibe contract.  We hope this change reduces the pressure to sell tickets to fulfill your Vibe Member Contract obligation and allows more seating options for those guests who can attend the show.  Updated ticket purchase process:

    • Please purchase the exact number of tickets for your guests who have committed to attending the show.
    • Please do NOT purchase tickets if you have not received commitment from guests to attend a show only to meet your 10 ticket commitment.
    • If your 10 ticket obligation or donation amount is not met after online ticket sales close to the public, you will be invoiced for the remaining balance payable through Square or by  check (payable to the Vibe Performance Company).  

Below are details about the timing of Ticket Sales:

  • Showcase Tickets will go on pre-sale via our online ticketing website to Parents of Seniors on Tuesday, January 7 at/around 9am.  Parents of Seniors will be allowed to purchase up to 20 tickets for both shows at this time.  Once ticketing goes on sale for other Vibe members the next day, you may purchase more tickets at that time.  Please be on the lookout for an email from the Vibe GMAIL account (not a web post) with Ticket Sales information on Tuesday.
  • Showcase Tickets will go on pre-sale via our online ticketing website to all other Vibe members only on Wednesday, January 8 at/around 9am.  Please be on the lookout for an email from the Vibe GMAIL account (not a web post) with Ticket Sales information on Wednesday.    
  • On Monday, January 13, Showcase details will be posted to our website as a web page and web post for general public ticket purchases.

**NEW Vibe Donation Opportunity Information (a great way to meet your 10 ticket contract requirement):

Please share the ticket purchase link you receive with friends and family that are unable to attend the show, but wish to support their favorite dancer, that they have the option to make a small donation to Vibe Performance Company in lieu of a ticket purchase.  When using the link to purchase tickets, there is a donation tab at the top (see snapshot below).  Please have the donor fill in your dancers name in the “dancer’s name” field.

Hello Family, It’s that time of year again.  It’s my dance studio’s annual Showcase dance fundraiser.  While I know most of you reside out of town and won’t be able to attend, may you please consider making a donation.  Every little bit helps!  Please see the link below, and as always thanks for the continued love and support.  

Below are important notes about Day of Show (to explain to your guests when inviting them): 

  • There will be a short intermission in each show, where concessions will be sold.
  • We are offering 2 Dancer Gift options this year. They will be sold pre-sale and at the venue, while quantities last. There will be a separate web post next week explaining the dancer gift options and how to purchase.

Happy New Year! Lots of Updates

2025

Happy New Year to all Vibe Members and Parents!!   We are looking forward to seeing everyone!  Lots of important updates to kick off the New Year….please read all below:

  1. January rehearsal times have been added to the master calendar, please make sure you keep your dancers calendars up to date.  **REMINDER:  All rehearsals are mandatory from this point forward. There will be rehearsals every weekend so please keep weekends open…just because there isn’t something currently scheduled on the calendar do not assume it is an open weekend*Please note the first 2 weekends of February will have a similar rehearsal schedule to the first 2 weekends of January, however, will not be finalized until we know which pieces need more rehearsal time. 
  2.  The Conflict form has been turned off. If you have an unavoidable conflict you need to communicate, please reach out to Cheryl directly. 
  3. The decision has been made to NOT attend the Radix Convention previously scheduled on the weekend of Feb 28 – Mar 2.  This weekend will instead be used for in-studio rehearsal time prior to our first competition the following weekend. Rehearsal schedule is TBD but please keep this entire weekend blocked for rehearsal. 
  4. Cheryl has created the Solo, Duo, Trio Signup Genius for this season. Click here to access the Signup Genius. Everyone must wait until they receive the email before signing up.  
  5. Showcase Ticket Sales begin this week! Be on the lookout for more information tomorrow. 

Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.

You may only sign up for one slot each time new dates are posted. After 3 days, if there are still spots open, dancers who do not have a solo/duo/trio and would just like a private lesson for technique are eligible to book. These dancers should be prepared to come to their private lesson with an agenda of what they want to work on. 

Dancers, please remember the following:

  • Please bring your music to the private lesson.
  • Please bring payment ($35 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl or Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
  • If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
  • As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

Studio Booking Process

We will be using Calendly to book rooms for practices and/or to log your required rehearsals for solo, duo or trios. Click here to access the FootNotes booking page on Calendly.

  • Solos, duos or trios must log 1 hour each month in the studio on your own. 
  • These bookings are for rehearsing/practicing, not playtime. 
  • These bookings are dancers only. No parents are allowed in the studios unless the dancer is under the age of 11. 
  • Dancers are not allowed to share the room with any other dancer while logging your required rehearsal time (except in a duo or trio). It is on your own. 
  • Dancers 5th grade or younger are not allowed to share the room with other dancers at any time. You may have a parent present if needed. 
  • Bookings are done in 15 minute time slots. You may book for up to 2 slots a day. We will see how this goes before placing any other restrictions. 
  • You will get a confirmation email once the booking is confirmed.
  • You will be charged at the end of each month with a fee of $5.00 per 15 minute slot.  
  • Your booking is subject to cancellation due to changes in room availability. At which time you will receive a cancellation notice via email.  

2025 Big/Little Checklist of Fun!

It’s your guide to Big/Lil Fun as we prepare to kick off our spring competition season!! The Big/Lil Checklist of Fun includes monthly activities or small gift ideas guaranteed to bring a smile to your big or little. This year, it’s not a race to finish first or to check a box. It’s a celebration of you and everything each Big and Lil bring to the Vibe family. The goal is to provide each Big/Lil pair with opportunities to get to know each other, have fun, be silly together, share hugs or high-fives, cheer for each other, and give each other a few little gifts along the way. Each big/lil pair will also be entered in a raffle for gift card prizes in December, February, April, and May. Each month we will post Big/Lil Checklist of Fun Reminders so there will be no need to commit the checklist to memory or scroll through posts to find the information.

To kick-off our celebration, we’ll start with a December raffle to celebrate all the hot drink holidays in December: Hot Cocoa Day, Peppermint Latte Day, Gingerbread Latte Day, and the ever popular, Coffee Percolator Day. 4 lucky Big/Lil pairs will receive Starbucks gift cards. Winners will be announced on Thursday, December 19 and you will be able to pick up your gift cards with Ms. Martha!

Holiday Party Update!

Our annual Vibe Holiday Party & Gift Exchange “Deck The Halls With Disco Balls” will be held on Sunday, December 15 at 12:00pm (previously 11:00am) at The Falls at Autry Mill clubhouse (address is: 9825 Autry Falls Dr, Alpharetta, GA 30022).

Reminders for the Holiday Party:

  1. Attire is Sparkles or PJs or Sparkly PJs!
  2. Please bring a $15 wrapped gift to the party for a Gift Exchange Game that will be played with all of the Vibe dancers together. Everyone will go home with a gift from another Vibe dancer. 
  3. You do NOT need to purchase a second gift for your Big or Little Sister. They will be working on Birthday Box project and there is no greater gift than time spent together 🙂
  4. Foster Love Birthday Box Philanthropy project: each big/little pair bring the following to the party to decorate the boxes:
    • BIGS: Please bring Markers
    • LITTLES: – Please bring stickers that are appropriate for boys or girls age 0-12, no religious themes. These will be used to decorate the boxes as well.

We are looking forward to having the whole group together for a wonderful holiday celebration! See you Sunday at 12:00pm!

Competition Earrings Order: Due Monday 12/16!

It is time to order your dancer’s competition earrings!!    Competition Earrings are mandatory for all female dancers. Each dancers should have a minimum of 2 pairs of earrings for competition on hand (one to wear and one as a backup).

All proceeds will be used by The Vibe for dance company-related activities throughout the season! Each member will have the opportunity to place a bid for any or all of the items listed below. Bidding on all items will close at 8:00am on Sunday, December 15th. You will have one final chance to bid on these items at the Holiday party next Sunday. Winners will be announced at te end of the party.
