We have 1 Master Calendar Update to share with you this week.   The Vibe Holiday Party has been scheduled for Sunday, December 18, from 1-3pm at the Studio.     More details will be forthcoming from our social committee as we get closer to the event.   Please review this update on the Master Calendar.

The Vibe logistics team has done the work for you…please go to our Competition Hotel Info page (password protected) to see lodging recommendations and block rates for this season.

Rooms typically fill up VERY quickly for all competitions…so make your reservations ASAP.  It is best to make reservations for all nights, as we will not have the competition schedule until 7-10 days prior to the event.  It is much easier to cancel a night at a hotel, than to add one on at the last minute!

VPC Parents & Dancers,

The Vibe will be placing the ONE TIME PER YEAR order for backpacks and track jackets.

The order deadline is Friday, September 30. Both of these items are mandatory for all members.  This post has a lot of details that we need to make you aware of, so please read on…

• New members, please place your order for both the jacket and backpack using the link at the bottom of the web post.
• Returning  members, please do an honest assessment of the condition of your backpack, as well as the condition and fit of your jacket (this is for the White/Black style….last year’s jacket style only).  Read on for more details.   Please use the same link below to place your order, for the items you wish to purchase this year.
• Order confirmations are emailed within 24 hours of you submitting your order.  If you do not receive a confirmation, your order was not received.

DETAILS…

Jackets:  Last year’s white and black Vibe jacket style has been discontinued at GTM Sportswear.  Cheryl has found another vendor that has a similar jacket style (see picture below).  For new members, this retro-style jacket will be white and black, and the back will have the FootNotes Dance logo (red, black and white).  The jacket is available in Youth XS-L and Adult YS-6XL sizes (see size chart below).   It is the parent’s responsibility to select the size they feel would work best for their dancer.    Additionally, you will have the option of adding your dancer’s name on the jacket…see details in the online order form.

• If you already own last year’s White and Black  jacket style (and it still fits and is in good shape), you are not required to purchase a new jacket for this 2016-2017 dance season.  If you own the black and red jacket style from 2+ years prior, you will need to invest in a new jacket for this dance season.
• As always, the Vibe jacket is a mandatory item for all Vibe members.  The dancers wear the jackets to both workshops and competitions to establish a more “uniform” appearance, as well as to/from dance practice in the cooler months.

To determine jacket size, focus on the bust and waist size for appropriate fit.

Backpacks:  The same backpack will be used again this year. This bag is the perfect size to hold ALL of the dancer’s shoes.   The dancers will use this bag for weekly classes, as well as workshops and competitions.  The backpacks will have the FootNotes logo embroidered on the front flap, and your dancer’s name will be embroidered on the side pocket.   Please check your dancer’s backpack to see if it is still in good shape or needs replacing. They are typically ready to be replaced after 2-3 years.

iN House DANCE  Workshop is ‘in the house’ this Saturday, September 24!  This workshop is sure to be an amazing dance experience for all of our dancers!    Click here for the detailed schedule.  This is a mandatory Vibe dancer event.   Remember that the schedule is listed by age group (not by dance team), so your dancer will follow the schedule based on her age at the time of the workshop.  

Reminders:

• Please be at the studio for check-in at 8:30AM.
• Please make sure your dancer comes to the workshop with a water bottle, along with healthy snacks and lunch.
• Parents, you are welcome to come watch the faculty performance and dancer showcase starting at 3:15PM.
• Dancers, please welcome all other visiting studio dancers to our studio.

Lastly, Cheryl is actively working on rehearsal schedules, keeping known schedule conflicts in mind.   We will publish rehearsal schedules/choreography completions, as soon as she has firm dates and times.    Reminder….please keep your weekends in October open.   She knows for sure that Elite, Ovation, and Premier will have rehearsals sometime during the weekend of October 1….dates and times to be determined.

We are excited to announce schedule details of the upcoming iN House DANCE  Workshop at FootNotes!   

Cherrise Wakeham, along with other amazing dance instructors, will be conducting this workshop on Saturday, September 24.  It is sure to be a great day of dance learning!  Click here for the detailed schedule.
