Raise the Barre Dance Intensive (which includes auditions for next year’s Vibe dance teams) is confirmed for the week of June 17, 2019.  It is shown as the entire week on the Master Calendar until specifics are known…detailed dates/times will be announced closer to the date.  As always, Raise the Barre will be filled with intensive classes with guest choreographers, as well as FootNotes instructors.  This is a mandatory event for all dancers wishing to audition for the 2019-2020 Vibe Performance Company dance team.

Photo Buttons

Pin on your pride and joy! We are offering Photo Buttons again this year for our Vibe dancers to show our spirit for our girls.  The buttons are 3″ in diameter and will feature a photo of your dancer with a red border that says “FootNotes Dance & Acrobatics” around the outer edge. It can be further customized with your daughter’s name, as an option.  See button example below.

Angela Coppola, our photography committee chairperson, will be taking the headshot photos for the photo buttons on the following days/times at the Studio: 

• Saturday, January 26 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
• Sunday, January 27 at 12:30pm – 1:00pm

Please plan to come at one of these times to have your dancer’s headshot taken if you wish to purchase a photo button.  These time slots have been added to the Master Calendar.

What to wear: Please have your daughter wear light stage makeup and her FootNotes jacket, and competition earrings.   

• UPDATE on competition earrings:   If you have last year’s competition earrings, bring them to use for the headshot; if you do not, Cheryl will have extra earrings to wear for the photo.   Our dancer’s new competition earrings may not arrive in time for the headshots.
• Your Dancer’s hair should be styled neatly in any hairstyle.  You will note that we will use a different photo background this year for the photo buttons…we plan to use the Vibe/FootNotes step-and-repeat.

Buttons are $5 each, and you will receive them in time for Showcase…so order extra if you have extended family coming to see the show!  We will be taking payments (cash or check) when photos are taken on Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27.

Lanyards

FNDA Lanyards (for keeping your name tag and dance schedules) are also available should returning Vibe members need a new one.  Lanyards are available for purchase at $2/each.   For New Vibe Members:  1 lanyard will be provided to each NEW Vibe family, free of charge.

We are fairly certain you have felt the pressure of dance season taking shape from the last week now that we are back from break…lots of emails, meetings, and new costumes arriving into your home.  While it is not (quite) ”showtime”, it is definitely “go time” for this season!

The Vibe’s Showcase Committee has a long list of volunteer positions to be filled for the 2 days of the shows.  Please click here to view the list of all volunteer positions for our 2019 Vibe Dance Showcase.

A couple of reminders about the Signup:  every Vibe Family is obligated to volunteer at least one position during Showcase.  This is the best time of the year to earn your hours towards the 12 hour required from each dancer family (20 hours for families with two dancers). Many of these openings that can be filled by moms, dads, as well as older (8th grade – college) siblings.

Please be aware of any time conflicts when signing up for multiple roles. For instance, you can not be a Lead Mom and work concessions for the same show as you would be needed in both roles at the same time. However, you could easily be a Lead Mom for the Saturday show and work concessions for the Sunday show, as an example.

Vibe Group Photos are now available for your viewing and downloading for printing and social media.  Instructions on how to download them are provided on the Group Photo web page.  As a reminder, this is a password protected web page.  If you have any issue with downloading them, please email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com.  

TODAY (Wednesday, January 9 end of day) is the deadline/last chance to sign up for competing your dancer’s solo at Radix.  Please sign up today, or your dancer will not be eligible for competing her solo at this competition.  Signup link is below.

We have the option for your dancer to compete her solo at the Radix Dance Competition while we are attending the dance convention the weekend of February 22-24.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) You will note that solos MAY BE scheduled for that Friday, and there MAY BE a possibility that your dancer will have to miss school to compete. The dance convention typically starts on Saturday (workshop schedule will be sent out as soon as it is available.)
2) There is an additional $140 fee to compete your solo.

As a reminder, the shows are Saturday and Sunday, February 9 and 10, both at 3pm at Paul Duke STEM High School in Norcross, GA.   

Showcase Ticket Sales Information

Let’s get ready to sell tickets to these 2 amazing shows!  Here are the details:

• Showcase Tickets will go on sale via our online ticketing website to Vibe members only on Wednesday, January 9 at 12noon.  This is priority ticket sales for our Vibe members.  Please be on the lookout for an email (not a web post) with Ticket Sales information this Wednesday/tomorrow midday.      
• On Thursday, January 10, Showcase details will be posted to our website as a web page and web post for general public ticket purchases.  This is the web page you will want to share with your friends and family for ticket purchases.

If your dancer is interested in competing her solo at Revel Dance Competition which is being held the weekend of January 18, please email us your interest by Monday, January 7 end of day at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com.  If any others are interested, Cheryl will check to see if they are still accepting entries.
