It will be a fun evening of dinner and celebrating an incredible year for our amazing dancers and our beloved Seniors!  Because we had such a successful Showcase event this year, the Vibe will pay for both the dancer and one dancer’s guest meals.

Dancers are asked to wear a sundress or any fun summer dress, and dancer’s guest should dress “country club casual.”

A BIG thank you to our EOY Celebration Chair, Deanna Brown, for planning the event! She will be reaching out to the EOY Celebration committee volunteers asking for assistance soon.

The following is the modified schedule for next week (week of May 30) for all Vibe groups:

No classes on Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day).

• 4-5pm Starlet Jazz
• NO BRAVO classes at all on Tuesday
• 5-7pm Ovation (normal schedule)
• 5-6pm Encore Ballet
• 6-7pm Encore Rehearsal (no 7pm class for Encore)
• 5-6pm Premier Rehearsal
• 6-7pm Premier Ballet
• 7-8pm Premier Rehearsal
• 7-8pm Elite Ballet
• 8-9:30pm Elite Rehearsal

Wednesday, June 1

• 4-5pm Starlet Ballet (from Monday & NO other classes)
• 6-7pm Bravo Ballet (from Monday)
• No other company classes will take place on this date other than the ones listed here.

Thursday, June 2

• 4:30-6pm Bravo Rehearsal – No Ballet
• 5-7pm Encore (Tap & Jazz)
• 5-6:45pm Ovation (Ballet & Tap only)
• 6:45-9:15pm Premier (normal class schedule)
• 6-8:30pm Elite (Ballet 6-7:30 & Tap 7:45-8:30)

Our 2022 21st Annual Recital Showcase is Sunday, June 5 with shows at 2pm and 6pm at the Gas South Theater in Duluth. Dress Rehearsals will be on Saturday, June 4 at 2pm and 6pm.  

To ensure a successful weekend, we are calling on all Vibe parents as well as Elite & Premier dancers to sign up for for volunteer positions available throughout the weekend. Please Click here to access the Vibe Signup Genius for Dress Rehearsal & Recital.

We plan to gather video footage for creating a “hype video” for Nationals for ALL VIBE GROUPS this coming week.  Video footage will be taken with your dancer’s groups on the schedule listed below.  Anna Cangelosi will be behind the camera taking the footage of the dancers during these timeframes.  Parents – Please ask your dancer to prepare her “best/signature moves” and/or “fierce pose” to show off on camera.

NOTE: On the day your dancer is being filmed…we ask that all dancers wear black…a black bra top, tank, or shirt and black shorts or leggings (whatever your dancer has that is black or dark-colored).

The Vibe is selling Recital Flower Bouquets and Trophies again this year! 

They are available for sale on Vibe’s online store. Simply place your order, and your flower bouquet and/or trophy will be waiting for you at the Trophy and Flower table in the lobby of the FootNotes recital venue (Gas South District Theater, formerly known as the Infinite Energy Center) on Sunday, June 5 prior to the 2pm and 6pm shows.

We will be selling Trophies and Flower Bouquets during Picture Week as well. You may purchase these items now through Wednesday, May 18 end of day, so get your order in today, and check that one off your end of year “to do” list!

• Dancers, please bring your HOT PINK 2021-2022 VIBE T-SHIRT you received at Showcase to wear around the venue as well as when you are out and about in Athens this weekend to show team spirit & support of each other!
• Big & Little Sisters – be sure to show support for each other and cheer each other on from the audience whenever possible throughout the weekend!
• Parents, please wear your FootNotes spiritwear and/or Vibe colors (red & black) to show our team spirit throughout the weekend as well as your “#WeDanceForHelen” ribbon and bracelet.

Below are details about Hair and Make-up for Picture Week, along with specifics about securing your dancer’s spot for individual pictures. 

• Schedule:
  • ELITE AND PREMIER, reminder to use the picture schedule that was communicated to you via groupme.
  • ELITE… Ballet pics are at 5:35pm on Wednesday, May 4. Group photos follow that same night, so bring hair accessories for changing your hairstyle to competition hair. Order of group photos will be:  Gaga, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Elizabeth Taylor, Nicki, Be Italian, Black Mirror, Be Your Girl, Forgiveness, and Skin and Bones.  
  • PREMIER…We Work is on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:40pm. Girl in the War is at 7:00pm. Heartbreaker is at 7:15 with other group pics following. Ballet is at the end of the day, so bring hair accessories for changing your hairstyle to a bun.
  • Production and River Deep are the same schedule on Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 and 8:30 respectively.

• Hair and Make-up for Picture Week:
  • Dancers need to be in Vibe competition hair and stage make-up (no lashes…but you do need mascara) for all group dances.
  • For ballet, dancers should wear their hair in a high bun at the crown of their head (follow the natural upsweeping line of the cheekbone for correct alignment of the bun; it should be high but not on top of their head). There should be no part in the hair. If you have ballet pics same day as your group pics, your hairstyle will need to change between the photos so make sure you bring hair accessories.

At the Studio:  Space in the studio will be limited during picture week.  ALL GROUPS:  If you have 1 or 2 pictures being taken on any given day, please do not bring your Dream Duffel.  Just bring your dancer’s costume, shoes and accessories in a smaller bag. Please come “picture-ready” (make-up and hair completely done) and dressed in your first costume.  Bring make-up and hair accessories for touch-ups.   Plan to be flexible given the space constraints.

This deposit is REQUIRED for Solo, Duos, and Trios, if you want your  dancer photographed in her solo/duo/trio costume(s).   Releve will not be able to accommodate ‘last minute’/same day sign-ups for solos/duos/trios.   You must sign-up for an available “Comp Session” slot for FN. Click here for the link.  There are slots for each day…an example of what you are looking for is: FN – Tues may03 | compSESSION.    Click on the link, and you will see the timeslots available.   There are “compSESSIONs” available on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.   If you cannot find a day that works for your dancer’s schedule, reach out to Releve staff at info@relevephoto.com  

If you want your dancer photographed individually in a group dance costume, you should also make a deposit for that dance, so that Releve knows how many individual photos they will be taking for each group dance.   It helps them with timing/planning.  The Deposit you make ahead of time can be used for any pictures that you end up purchasing from Releve.   Click here to access the Deposits link to find your group to select which dances you wish to have an individual pic taken.
