Volunteer Now!

The Vibe Volunteer Information Questionnaire Form link is below.   This form asks a series of questions to provide the opportunity for you to identify your skills and interests to pare you to the right volunteer positions. 

Please click here to start the questionnaire (your response is due by Tuesday, September 25 end of day). It has several sections:

  • Basic info about you and/or your husband
  • Skills and Interests
  • A list of the open key roles in the Vibe, with several options for each
  • Ranking: You will then be asked to rank the positions you selected from most to least interest levels.  If you are also including information for your spouse, please indicate that in the ranking list.

Note that if you hit the back arrow to return to a previous page, you will lose all data and need the form to start over. There is a Questions and Comments section on the last page to add any info you might have left off earlier in the form.

Once we have the responses from the Volunteer Information Form, the Board will review the responses and placements will be compiled in the coming weeks.  

Thanks for your attention to getting this form filled out by Tuesday, September 25 end of day and for all you do to make us VIBE-STRONG!  The form is also accessible on the Team To Do List web page for your convenience.

A separate Signup Genius for the “day of” Dance Showcase volunteer positions will be sent out in January.  You will note that all of those volunteer roles are not listed in this Volunteer Information Form.

       

 

Dream Duffels & Accessories are in!

Dream Duffels & accessories (hangers, garment bags, and stools) have arrived!

If you purchased any of these items, they are ready for pick-up at the studio tomorrow (Tuesday), September 18 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.   You will receive an invoice tomorrow morning via email for the items you purchased.  Additionally, you may pick-up your items on Thursday, September 20 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm.  Payment is needed at pick-up (check made out to “Vibe”, please.)

If you asked for your items to be delivered to your dancer, we will do that, but we need the payment sent in tomorrow or Thursday with your dancer.

Update on Hotel Info

As mentioned in the previous Book It Now! blog post, our Logistics team was not able to secure 60+ rooms at each hotel.  Hotels will not allow a group to secure a large block of rooms without a commitment to a number of rooms and the number of days of stay (and a credit card to pay for them).  Our Logistics team was given a “courtesy block” with the option of extending the block if we book up what was provided to us.  This is also why there are multiple hotels available to choose from…we booked enough hotels to accommodate for 60 dancer families.  Please continue to email your questions to footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com if you can not obtain one of the FootNotes rates listed.  We will forward your inquiry to our Logistics committee, and they will determine if the block can be extended.

Second, the Competition Hotel webpage has been updated with the latest room rates available.  Specifically:

  • the block for the Hampton Inn & Suites in Chattanooga has been fully booked.  They can not offer that same rate and room type, but they did provide Lori with an alternative (which is now listed in the document).
  • parking information for Elyton was also updated.

NOTE:  If you have 2 rooms booked at different hotels under the FootNotes blocks, please cancel one of the hotels so that you are not taking up 2 rooms in the FootNotes block.  We do not have ‘extra’ rooms blocked, given the size of our group this season.

 

Book It Now!

Our Vibe Logistics committee (consisting of Lori Murphy and Stacey Horel) has been hard at work securing multiple hotel options for our regional competitions.  We appreciate all of their efforts – thank you ladies!  Our “away” hotel options have been secured.  We are waiting on booking links from the Atlanta hotels.  We will publish those as soon as we have that information (and we will send another blog post letting you know the information has been updated).  Click here to access the Competition Hotels webpage.

NOTE:  If you can not secure the rate that is listed for a hotel, please email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com, (include which hotel and rate), and we will get that information to our logistics committee.  We are not able to secure a block of 60+ rooms at these rates at each hotel…hotels will not allow us to do that. We have smaller blocks of rooms secured at the hotel, with the option of them allowing us to open up more accommodations should we book to their maximum allowed for the block.

    • ELITE Small Groups** – There will be 3, one hour slots for 3 of the Small Groups that will be scheduled between 11am – 2pm. Please keep this time window open/available.

    • PREMIER Lyrical Rehearsal – 12:00pm – 1:00pm
    • OVATION & PREMIER Hip Hop Rehearsal – 1:00pm – 3:00pm
    • OVATION Rehearsal – 3:00pm – 4:00pm

NOTES:  

  • **ELITE – Since some of the Small Groups have not been selected, we are providing you with these placeholder times so that you keep them available on your schedule.  We will update you/the calendar as soon as the times/which small groups are rehearsing on each of these days.
  • ALL MEMBERS: Cheryl has pulled together this schedule with the current schedule conflicts for each group in mind/working around everyone’s schedules as best as she can. The intent of scheduling around these conflicts is so that everyone in the group will attend the rehearsal.  If there is some reason you cannot make a rehearsal, please make us aware of that ASAP. Please email footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com to let us know which rehearsal and time you will miss.
  • REMINDER:  Please remember you have until this Thursday, September 14 end of day to fill out the optional Tremaine Dance Convention Registration Request form. FYI’s, Reminders, & a Master Calendar Update


Below are a few FYI and reminder items as we head into this Labor Day weekend.  We hope you have a restful and fun long weekend!

  • FootNotes is closed on Monday, September 3 in observance of Labor Day.
  • If you have not filled out the Jacket, Backpack, Dream Duffel & Accessories Order form, please do so ASAP.   Cheryl will be placing the order on Tuesday, September 4.  Click here to access the form.
  • The Hotel Logistics Committee has been working hard to secure blocks of hotel rooms for our competition weekends. They have several blocks secured already.  As soon as we have received all of the booking information from each hotel, we will publish details…we expect the information will be published next week (week of September 3).

Tentative times for next weekend’s choreography sessions have been finalized and updated on the Master Calendar.   Below is a recap of all choreography for Saturday and Sunday:

Tremaine Dance Convention – Registration “To Do”

Tremaine Dance Convention will be held on Saturday & Sunday, November 3 and 4.  Click here to view details about the Atlanta convention.  It is an optional dance convention that your dancer may attend.  Because it is optional, we have setup a Registration Request form. In order to be registered for this convention, you MUST fill out the form below.  Even if you do not wish to attend, please fill out the form for your dancer(s).    

Details about the Tremaine Dance Convention

Cost to attend the convention: Saturday is $150 per dancer, and both Saturday and Sunday are $260. Observer bands (for a parent if you wish to be in the room where the dancers are) are $50/per person for both days, or $35 for one day. These fees are NOT included in your Vibe tuition as this is an optional dance convention…therefore, you will be charged this additional fee on your FootNotes account.

Registration Form & Deadline:  Click here to fill out the Tremaine Dance Convention Registration Request form.  Cheryl must have this form filled out by Thursday, September 13 end of day.

Sample Schedule Click here for a sample schedule provided by Tremaine. You will see that classes on Sunday (which is also our group picture day) will last until 2:30pm. In order to get ready for group pictures, your dancer can stay until the Lunch Break on Sunday. Cheryl does NOT want your dancer to miss group photos just to stay for that last class at this dance convention. If you have any questions, please email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com.

NOTES (from Tremaine): If you attend only 1 day, you will not be eligible to audition for a scholarship at this convention.

LOCATION: The Dance Convention will be held at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, 165 Courtland St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Once we see which dancers wish to attend this convention, we will be in touch with those attendees about possible carpooling and observer band(s).
