Tremaine Dance Convention will be held on Saturday & Sunday, November 3 and 4.  Click here to view details about the Atlanta convention.  It is an optional dance convention that your dancer may attend.  Because it is optional, we have setup a Registration Request form. In order to be registered for this convention, you MUST fill out the form below.  Even if you do not wish to attend, please fill out the form for your dancer(s).    

Details about the Tremaine Dance Convention

Cost to attend the convention: Saturday is $150 per dancer, and both Saturday and Sunday are $260. Observer bands (for a parent if you wish to be in the room where the dancers are) are $50/per person for both days, or $35 for one day. These fees are NOT included in your Vibe tuition as this is an optional dance convention…therefore, you will be charged this additional fee on your FootNotes account.

Registration Form & Deadline:  Click here to fill out the Tremaine Dance Convention Registration Request form.  Cheryl must have this form filled out by Thursday, September 13 end of day.

Sample Schedule:  Click here for a sample schedule provided by Tremaine. You will see that classes on Sunday (which is also our group picture day) will last until 2:30pm. In order to get ready for group pictures, your dancer can stay until the Lunch Break on Sunday. NOTES (from Tremaine): If you attend only 1 day, you will not be eligible to audition for a scholarship at this convention.

LOCATION: The Dance Convention will be held at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel, 165 Courtland St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Once we see which dancers wish to attend this convention, we will be in touch with those attendees about possible carpooling and observer band(s).

Now that the September 7th weekend choreography schedule is set, our Big/Little Sister Reveal has been moved to Saturday, September 8 at 2pm since 4 of the 5 dance groups will be at the studio at that time.  The fun will start at 2pm, and we plan to be done by 2:45pm.  Below is a recap of the updated September 8 schedule:

The Vibe will be placing the ONE TIME PER YEAR order for Jackets and Backpacks.  Since we have several new members this year, we will also place a bulk order to Dream Duffel for anyone that wants to purchase a Dream Duffel, Garment Bag(s), Wooden Hanger(s), and/or Stool.

The order deadline is Friday, August 31. The form must be filled out for all dancers, even if you do not need to order anything.  The jacket and backpack are mandatory for all members.  The Dream Duffel and accessories are optional purchases.  This post has a lot of details that we need to make you aware of, so please read on…

• New members, place your order for both the jacket and backpack using the link at the bottom of the web post.
• Returning  members, do an honest assessment of the condition of your backpack, as well as the condition and fit of your white jacket. Both must be a good condition to last the entire dance season.
• Order confirmations will be emailed to the email address you provide on the form to show you which items you requested to order.  If you do not receive a confirmation, your order was not received.

Jackets: The jacket is a mandatory item for all Vibe dancers. The same jacket will be used again this year.  It is a retro-style white and black jacket with the FootNotes Dance logo (red, black and white) on the back.  The jacket is available in Youth XS-L and Adult XS-6XL sizes (see size chart below).   It is the parent’s responsibility to select the size they feel would work best for their dancer.    

• If you already own last year’s White and Black  jacket style (and it still fits and is in good shape), you are not required to purchase a new jacket for this 2018-2019 dance season.  
• To determine jacket size, focus on the bust and waist size for appropriate fit.  We will have some sample jackets (not all sizes) for dancers to try on, starting this Saturday, August 25 through Thursday, August 30.
  

Backpacks:  The Vibe Backpack is a mandatory item for all Vibe dancers.  The same backpack will be used again this year. This bag is the perfect size to hold ALL of the dancer’s shoes.   The dancers will use this bag for weekly classes, as well as workshops and competitions.  The backpacks will have the FootNotes logo embroidered on the front flap, and your dancer’s name will be embroidered on the side pocket.   Please check your dancer’s backpack to see if it is still in good shape or needs replacing. They are typically ready to be replaced after 2-3 years.

Dream Duffel and Accessories:  We are also making a one time purchase from “Dream Duffel” for those members that wish to purchase a Dream Duffel and/or other garment accessories.  If we make a large enough purchase, we may get a discount that we will pass on to you.  At a minimum, we will save on shipping by ordering the product in bulk/one order.  The Dream Duffel (medium-size), Garment Bags, Wooden Hangers, and Folding Stool are available to be purchased on the order form.  Approximate costs are listed in the order form.

• REMINDER – ALL MEMBERS:  The Parent Kickoff Meeting is scheduled for this coming Saturday, August 18 at 10am at the Studio. Lots of “company” information will be shared. We anticipate the meeting will run 1.5 hours, but depending on questions, it could run longer.  This is a mandatory meeting so please make every effort to attend.  Also, a “New to the Vibe” Parent Meeting will immediately follow the Parent Kickoff meeting.  Please plan to stay an additional 15-30 minutes if possible.  We will cover all that you need to know if this is your first year in Vibe!
  • Note that this is a parent only meeting (dancers should not attend).  Only 1 parent needs to attend, but both are welcome!
  • Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
  • Bring your phone and/or calendar notebook as Cheryl will have competition/convention/workshop dates and other information to share with us.
  • Your Vibe Parent and Dancer Contract Agreement to FootNotes for this 2018-19 dance season is due.   If you haven’t already turned this document in, please make sure that this is completed and turned into the front desk at the studio by August 18th as well.

The Vibe 2018-2019 Member Information web page is now active under the Members Only section of the website.  Please click here to access our Member Information web page.  As a reminder, this page is password protected.  The password was sent out via email to all members on July 16.

The Member Information webpage contains several documents:

1.  The 2018-2019 Member Directory which lists all dancer info by group name/by dancer first name.   Please review your dancer’s directory information for any errors or changes needed.    If you find anything that needs correcting, please communicate the change via the Member Directory updates form also listed on the Member Directory webpage.
2. The Vibe Handbook (which contains the Vibe contract that needs to be turned into FootNotes if you have not already done so).
3. Each dance group’s, as well as Solo/Duo/Trio/Small Group Payment Plans.
4. If your dancer has any Schedule Conflict updates that you need to communicate, there is a form on this webpage to communicate those to us.
