Save the Dates – Master Calendar Update

We have a few important dates to communicate with you.   Each of these have been added to the Master Calendar as placeholder events.

  1. Rehearsals for Nationals for ALL GROUPS will be scheduled from Saturday, June 19 through Friday, June 25.  We will communicate exact day/times as soon as they are available.
  2. Raise the Barre will be the week of July 26. And, 2021-2022 season Choreography may be starting that week as well (and Choreography will likely be scheduled into the week of August 2).  Please keep both weeks of July 26 and August 2 open on your dancer’s calendar.  Again, we will communicate exact day/times as soon as they are available.
    • In case you are wondering….2021-2022 Season Auditions will be held separate from Raise the Barre this year.  Auditions will be the weekend of May 15-16.  We will communicate the details as soon as they are finalized.

Solo, Duo, Trio Privates – SUG Update

Cheryl has updated the Solo, Duo, Trio Signup Genius with some additional March dates.  She will add more slots as soon as she hears a final schedule for our next competition.  Click here to access the Signup Genius.

Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.   Please only sign up for 1 slot for the first week the SUG is published.  After a week, you may sign up for a second slot if you wish.

Dancers, please remember the following:

  • Please bring your music to the private lesson.
  • Please bring payment ($35 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl or Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
  • If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
  • As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

We are planning on having a Masquerade Viewing Party of Overall Awards on Tuesday, March 16 from 7pm – 7:30pm ET at the studio for our dancers ONLY. (The group would be too large if we allow Moms to come too.)   Please join your dance friends in cheering the team on (if you are in a dance class at that time, you can still join as the teachers are aware that we are doing this).  We think the overall awards will last only 20-30 minutes, based on other overalls that we have seen completed by Masquerade from prior competitions.

Safe travels to Birmingham!!  We are all so excited to see our Vibe Team hit the dance this weekend!

Competition Mask @ Masquerade

Your dancer should have received the beige (mesh cloth) face mask from Cheryl. If your dancer did not receive one, please ask for hers when your dancer is at the studio next.

These beige masks are to be worn ON STAGE, at the COMPETITION ONLY so that they can be kept clean. Your dancer must bring another mask to Masquerade to wear for protection throughout the day while we are in the dressing rooms and/or anywhere around the venue.   Masks are required for all dancers and family members at the Alabama Theater.

Please click here to review detailed instructions regarding the competition mask.  It is important you review this information ahead of this weekend. The Mask document has “NEW/IMPORTANT” next to the new entry that has been added to our private Masquerade web page.

Big/Little To Do For Masquerade

Competition season has begun and we couldn’t be more excited to hit the road to Masquerade next weekend!  What better reason than to spread love, encouragement and GOOD LUCK to our Big and Little Sisters on this big weekend!

We are providing each dancer with a shamrock to take home and “scratch” a note of support and encouragement to their Big/Little Sister. Attach a little token of something sweet, something green or something that will bring them GOOD LUCK to share with your Big/Little sister this coming Sunday, March 14 when all dancers are together at the competition venue.

**Shamrocks will be available at the front desk of the studio next week for dancers to pick up no later than  Thursday, March 11.
