2 updates to the Master Calendar:

• Production Lock-in (this is an overnight choreography event for ALL GROUPS at the studio) times have been finalized…dancers should be at the studio starting as early as 3pm on Saturday, September 14, and pick-up is between 7:30am – 8:30am on Sunday, September 15.  Further details on exact timing, what to bring, etc. will be shared closer to the date.
• Saturday, December 7 is the date for the Johns Creek Founder’s Day Parade. This is a morning event. Let’s show our FootNotes spirit and promote our name in our community at this fun event.  Details will be forthcoming closer to the date.

TUESDAY “COMBO TECH” CLASS SCHEDULE INFORMATION

BRAVO:  The following dates are the Tuesday’s when your dancer will have the BRAVO COMBO TECH class starting at 4pm with Michael Hebert this season.  All other Tuesday’s, your dancer will start class at 5pm (Tap).   Please make sure you that you mark these on your calendar…we have included these on the Vibe Master Calendar as a reminder.

• August 27
• September 3 & 17
• October 1, 15 & 29
• November 12 & 19
• December 3 & 17
• January 14 & 28
• February 11 & 25
• March 10 & 24
• April 14, or 21, or 28 (only 2 of these 3 dates will be used…waiting on final information about Picture Week)
• May 12 & 26

ELITE, OVATION, and PREMIER:   There are 2 Tuesday’s this year, where there will be NO “Combo Tech” class.  Those dates are:  September 10 & October 22.    Please update your personal calendar accordingly.

ELITE, OVATION, and PREMIER:  Your “Combo Tech” classes listed on the FootNotes dance schedule on Tuesday’s will have multiple instructors throughout the season. Here is the breakdown:

• Michael Hebert will be the main instructor for all Tuesday “Combo Tech” classes not listed below.
• Rachel Truitt will be the instructor on these dates: August 20, September 24, October 8, January 21, February 18, March 17, and May 19.  These dates have been added to the Master Calendar (so that you are aware of the instructor change).
• Cherrise Wakeham will be the instructor on these dates: November 5, December 10, January 7, February 4, March 3, March 31, and May 5.
  • NOTE: The “Combo Tech” class schedule for these 3 groups may look a little different on those days when Cherrise is in the studio….Cheryl will be in touch once that information is finalized.
  • Also, it is likely that Cherrise will conduct run throughs of your dances that she choreographed…so it is especially important to be present at these classes.
  • These dates have been added to the Master Calendar (so that you are aware of the instructor change).

ELITE/OVATION/PREMIER – WEDNESDAY MASTER CLASS w/ JON CARR

• ELITE, OVATION, and PREMIER: Mark your calendars for the following Jon Carr master classes on Wednesday’s each month. Times are:  OVATION at 6pm, PREMIER at 7pm, and ELITE at 8pm.  Dates are: August 14, September 11, October 23, November 13, December 11, January 22, February 26, March 25, April 29, and May 27.  There are no additional fees for these classes…they are built into your tuition.
  • NOTE: It is likely that Jon will conduct run throughs of your dances that he choreographed…so it is especially important to be present at these classes.
  • These dates have been added to the Master Calendar.

The Vibe Volunteer Information Questionnaire Form link is below.   This form asks a series of questions to provide the opportunity for you to identify your skills and interests to pair you to the right volunteer positions. 

Please click here to start the questionnaire (your response is due by Friday, August 16 end of day). It has several sections:

• Basic info about you and/or your husband (if he has able to volunteer)
• Skills and Interests
• A list of the open key roles in the Vibe, with several options for each
• Ranking: You will then be asked to rank the positions you selected from most to least interest levels.  If you are also including information for your spouse, please indicate that in the ranking list.

Note that if you hit the back arrow to return to a previous page, you will lose all data and need the form to start over. There is a Questions and Comments section on the last page to add any info you might have left off earlier in the form.

Once we have the responses from the Volunteer Information Form, the Board will review the responses and placements will be compiled.  

Thanks for your attention to getting this form filled out by Friday, August 16 end of day and for all you do to make us VIBE-STRONG!  The form is also accessible on the Team To Do List web page for your convenience.  

Note:  A separate Signup Genius for the “day of” Dance Showcase volunteer positions will be sent out in January.  You will note that all of these volunteer roles are not listed in this Volunteer Information Questionnaire form.

FootNotes/Vibe Magnet

We gave out FootNotes/Vibe Magnets, 1 per dance family, at the Parent Meeting.   If you did not receive your magnet, please email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com.

We have additional Magnets for sale should you want a second or third for other cars…they are $5 each (cash or check).  Magnets will be available for purchase from the front desk at FootNotes once classes begin on August 12.

Cheryl is waiting to hear from the choreographers to finalize times for the remaining choreography for the weekend of August 9-11.  We will communicate those to you as soon as the times are finalized.

Request for donation – The following is a perfect excuse to ask your daughter to help clean out that drawer with the freebie make-up pouches that you get with those ‘gift with purchase’ items!

Please help support a drive to collect gently used or new make-up or pencil pouches (generally about 9 x 6 inches as a guideline, but we will take slightly larger or smaller).  These will be sent to young teenage girls in foreign countries to use for storage of sanitary items as part of the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe-box drive.  I am assisting with the packing of over 200 boxes for girls age 9-14 years old.  There will be a collection bin in the studio starting today until September 30th.    I greatly appreciate your donations!

Renee Maples – Vibe Philanthropy Chair

• ALL MEMBERS:  Click here to access/fill out the 2019-2020 Medical Release Form.  This form must be filled out for all Vibe dancers, even if you are a returning member.  Please complete by Friday, August 16 end of day.  We have also added to the Team To Do List webpage for easy access.
• REMINDER – ALL MEMBERS:  The Parent ‘Kickoff of the Season’ Meeting is scheduled for tomorrow…Wednesday, July 31 at 6pm at the Studio. Lots of “company” information will be shared. We anticipate the meeting will run 1.5 hours, but depending on questions, it could run longer.  This is a mandatory meeting so please make every effort to attend.
  • Note that this is a parent only meeting (dancers should not attend).  Only 1 parent needs to attend, but both are welcome!
  • Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
  • Bring your phone and/or calendar notebook as Cheryl will have dates and other information to share with us.
  • Your Vibe Parent and Dancer Contract Agreement to FootNotes for this 2019-20 dance season is due.   If you haven’t already turned this document in, please make sure that this is completed and turned into the front desk at the studio.  There will be a bin at the front desk for collecting these tomorrow.
  • NEW MEMBERS: The “New to the Vibe” Parent Meeting will immediately follow the Parent Kickoff meeting.  Please plan to stay an additional 15-30 minutes if this is your first year with Vibe.

The Vibe 2019-2020 Member Information web page is now active under the Members Only section of the website.  Please click here to access our Member Information web page.  As a reminder, this page is password protected.  The password was sent out via email to all members in the “Welcome” email in early July.

The Member Information webpage contains several documents:

1.  The 2019-2020 Member Directory which lists all dancer info by group name/by dancer first name.   Please review your dancer’s directory information for any errors or changes needed.    If you find anything that needs correcting, please communicate the change via the Member Directory Updates form also listed on the Member Information webpage.
2. The Vibe Handbook (which contains the Vibe contract that needs to be turned into FootNotes if you have not already done so).
3. Payment Plans for each dance group, as well as Additional Solo/Duo/Trio/Small Group payment plan.
4. If your dancer has any additional/new Schedule Conflict updates that you need to communicate, there is a form on the Member Information webpage to communicate those additions and/or changes to us.
