Spiritwear, FootNotes Picture Week + April Rehearsal update

See below for updates on upcoming to do’s:

  • The Spiritwear ordering deadline is tomorrow/this Friday, March 29, end of day.   Get your order in before the website closes for orders!  FootNotes is offering a nice selection of items…all options are super soft and cute!   Click here to access the webstore.
  • FootNotes Picture Week Details:   Click here to access the FootNotes group picture schedule…we thought we would share it for easy access.  An email was sent out with details on this on March 20 from FootNotes.
    • Reminder that these pictures are mandatory and run from Sunday, April 14 through Thursday, April 18.   Check the schedule for days and times when your dancer’s pictures will be taken…note that it may be on multiple days.
    • Hair and Make-up for Picture Week: Dancers need to be in Vibe competition hair and stage make-up (including lashes) for all group dances except ballet. For ballet, dancers need to wear their hair in a high bun at the crown of their head (follow the natural upsweeping line of the cheekbone for correct alignment of the bun; it should be high but not on top of their head). There should be no part in the hair. For ballet pictures, the dancers should be in lighter stage make-up, and lips should be a shade lighter than competition lipstick but still defining and visible.
  • Releve’ will be offering an option to photograph your dancer in her solo, duo, and/or trio costume(s) again this year.  You need to make an appointment if you are interested in having pictures taken for these dances.  Click here to access the signup to secure your timeslot for these photo(s).   You will need to enter a credit card # to hold the day/time selected. Your card will not be charged until the dancer comes into the studio for the photo. You will note that if your dancer wants a photo taken in a solo costume, as well as in a duo/trio/small group costume, individual appointments will need to be made for each costume change. All duos/trios/small groups should have 1 mom/dancer coordinate and select/secure the time slot for the group.
  • Cheryl will be scheduling some group rehearsals during FootNotes Picture Week.   That schedule will be sent out as soon as it is available. Note that it may not align with when you normally have Rehearsal each week…she will fit it into the schedule as best as she can.   Therefore, please keep those afternoon/night open/available for rehearsals.

Give Back with Mascara Wands

Who has more used mascara wands than a group of competitive dancers??    The Ecks have found an easy way for our team to give back.   The Wands for Wildlife initiative upcycles used mascara wands to clean away oil, larvae, fly eggs, mites, infections, mud, and other contaminants from wildlife.  There will be a collection box for the used wands at the studio front desk.  We will be collecting them now through Saturday, April 20.  If you wish, you can clean the wands with Dawn dish detergent (or we will clean them before they are sent to Wands for Wildlife).  So, clean out your make-up bag or drawer today, and see how many used mascara wands you can find!

Big/Little To Do for Masquerade

Bigs and Littles…it’s time to get this competition season started!   Part of being on our team is encouraging each other throughout the competition.  We thought an Acrostic Poem would be a fun way to show your Big or Little how much you are supporting them.

Also, make sure that you are at the venue to cheer on your BIG or LITTLE this weekend. Dancers can give the poem to their Big/Little at any time during the Masquerade competition.

Best of luck to all of the dancers at Masquerade this weekend.  💜💚

Optional…Attach a treat to your note if you wish.   🍭

Poem Example:  Sara

S – Sassy  & superior girl

A – Amazing dancer

R – Radiantly beautiful to watch

A – Awesome & Admirable
