Nexstar Talent has changed the location/venue for the April 26-28 competition that we plan to attend!  It will be located at the Georgia World Congress Center (in town Atlanta, near Centennial Park).   If you wish to have a hotel for the weekend, Nexstar has the following hotel rate for a limited # of rooms (if you want this rate, call soon):

• Call  Marriott at 1(800) 321-2211.   Mention “Nexstar National Talent Competition.”  Room type currently available is: King bed w/ sofa bed for a rate of $119 plus tax.

Our 2019 Vibe Performance Company Dance Showcase DVDs are available for purchase for a limited time (now through March 1, 2019). The DVDs are great for the dancer who likes to study her dances (and others) over and over again…perfect for the family member who could not make that trip to see the Dance Showcase…and, of course, a wonderful keepsake of the day!

Cheryl has updated the Solo, Duo, Trio Signup Genius with a couple of February dates for private rehearsals.   Click here to access the Signup Genius. Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.  Please remember the following:

• Please bring your music to the private lesson.
• Please bring payment ($30 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl, or $40 for 30 minutes with Brian) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
• If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
• As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

Showcase is just around the corner!  Since this will be the first time that ALL of the Vibe dancers will be dancing together on stage, we would like for the dancers to fill their BIG or LITTLE SISTER’s ❤️ with a note of support and encouragement for the big weekend! Please attach a little token of “something sweet” to the note.

Lori Murphy will be distributing hearts for the girls to write the note of encouragement on at Blocking Day this coming Saturday, February 2nd.

We have a Master Calendar update to share with you for February:

• Weekend of February 15 (15th through 18th)
  • There will be rehearsals for ALL Groups on the weekend  of February 15.  Please continue to keep this weekend open.  A placeholder has been added to the Master Calendar indicating ALL GROUPS will have rehearsal times that weekend.  Cheryl is waiting to build the details of the schedule, based on which dances need more work/rehearsal time with her.

Also, if you are interested in ordering a Photo Button, please fill out the Google Form so that Angela Coppola knows your daughter will have a headshot.  Please remember to bring cash or check for payment…it is due by Sunday, January 27.  Orders will be placed that night in order for the buttons to be available by Showcase.    Click here to access the Photo Button & Lanyard Order form.

Dancers & Parents:  It’s almost Show Time, folks!  This coming weekend is a busy weekend with In-Studio Dress Rehearsal for all groups, except Applause (Applause:  yours is next Thursday, January 31).  Please review the Master Calendar for a reminder of this weekend’s schedule for your group. The following explains what we need to accomplish with this weekend’s activities.

Saturday & Sunday, January 26 – 27 – Dress Rehearsal/Costume Check

• This is a full COSTUME/dress rehearsal at the Studio for both the dancer and mom to learn what will be required with all costumes.   If mom cannot be there at the group’s designated time(s), please find a mom to assist with your daughter. This ‘rehearsal’ is when costumes will be tried on, checked for alterations, changes needed, etc. The dancers will run through their dance in the costume to confirm that it is “stage ready.”  Please bring all costumes (that you have in hand), as well as accessories, tights and ALL shoes. 
• Please be on time!  As you can see on the Master Calendar, these are full days with back-to-back sessions. 
• Hair and make-up for the in-studio dress rehearsal days:  if you are having a photo button headshot on the day of your dress rehearsal, please review hair and make-up requirements listed below.  If you are not having a headshot made, there are no hair and make-up requirements for this in-studio dress rehearsal.
• Reminder:  We will also take Photo Button headshots on both of these days for all groups (times listed below).  Please click here for details on the Photo Buttons that was explained in a web post last week.  Angela Coppola will be taking the headshot photos for the photo buttons on the following days/times at the Studio:
  • Saturday, January 26 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Sunday, January 27 at 12:30pm – 1:00pm
  • Note that your dancer only needs to have a headshot taken, if you wish to purchase a photo button.   
  • Reminders on hair & make-up & what to wear if you want a headshot taken for a photo button:  wear light stage make-up, style your hair neatly, and wear your Vibe jacket and competition earrings. UPDATE on competition earrings:   If you have last year’s competition earrings, bring them to use for the headshot; if you do not, Cheryl will have extra earrings to wear for the photo.   Our new competition earrings may not arrive by this weekend.
  • Buttons are $5 each, and you will receive them in time for Showcase.   Payment is due (cash or check payable to “The Vibe”) when your dancer’s photo is taken.
