About The Vibe

FootNotes Dance Company (The Vibe)

December Parents Night (actually DAY) Out at FN Planned!

Our Parents Night Out event in November was such a great success that we’re planning a daytime  event on Saturday, December 19!

  • Just like previous years, we will plan on dancing, games & crafts, pizza, and a movie for children between the ages of 3-10 (event hours are 11am – 2pm).  We need dancers and a few parents to volunteer for the event.
  • If you/your dancer would like to VOLUNTEER for the event, click here to access the Signup Genius.
  • Volunteers MUST arrive by 10:30am to help setup, lead activities and are expected to stay until 2:15pm for cleanup.    All volunteers must wear a mask while at the event and will be temperature checked upon arrival (we will be using standard FootNotes Covid guidelines).
    • Dancers: You will be expected to assist in various activities with the children, the entire length of the Parent Night Out event.  Dancers who volunteer can earn Beta hours for participating.
    • Minimum dancer age to volunteer is 12 years old.   If Mom/Dad has questions on whether your child should sign-up to volunteer, please feel free to email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com.

Cheryl will be advertising the date/time soon to FootNotes families.  Please feel free to pass on info about the event to your friends and neighbors!    Click here – Use this link to signup to have your child ATTEND the event.

Vibe Holiday Party – Details & What to Bring

While our Vibe Holiday party may look a little different this year, we are looking forward to each group being able to have a great holiday celebration!

Dates have now been set for each team’s party, and details of party activities and games that have been coordinated by our Holiday Party Committee will be going out to Group Moms this week.

This Year’s Philanthropy Donation Information

Our Philanthropy Chairs, Susie Koagel and Dayna Thomson, have partnered with Canine Assistants as our holiday philanthropy. Canine Assistants places service dogs with people who have mobility difficulties, Type 1 Diabetes, epilepsy/seizure disorders, many other special needs as well as placing Community Service Dogs who provide therapy services  in children’s hospitals. They have provided us with a list of items they are in need of to continue transforming the lives of those in need.  Click Here to view list of donation items.

What to bring to your team’s Holiday Party:

  • Please bring a $15 wrapped gift for a Gift Exchange Game that will be played at each holiday party.  You do not need to purchase a second gift for your Big or Little Sister.
  • We are asking for each dancer to bring 1 (or more if you are so inclined) of the following donation items to donate to this year’s philanthropy, Canine Assistants: Kong toys • balls • Febreze room spray • laundry detergent • Lupine 1” four-foot long leash (green) • Paper towels • Scoop Away Complete cat litter • Peanut butter • Squeeze cheese • Trash bags (kitchen, lawn/leaf, tall/big) • Treat pouches • Vidal oxide cleaner • Gift cards (Amex, Visa, Amazon, grocery) • Boxed copy paper • Manila file folders • HP 564 printer cartridges • Scotch packing tape

Elite Master Calendar Update

There is a change on the Master Calendar for ELITE for this Sunday, December 6.  All rehearsals previously on this date have been cancelled. There is one NEW entry – Madison Small Group Rehearsal from 11am – 1pm has been added for this Sunday, December 6.  The Master Calendar has been updated.  Please update your calendars.

Showcase Update – It’s ON!

Please save the date…actually “save the entire weekend” of February 12 (that includes both Saturday and Sunday, February 13 and 14!)    Our Showcase Chairs, Amy Smith and Elisa Bobbitt, have been leaving no stone unturned to secure a venue for our annual Showcase event.  They are very close to securing a contract with the venue. It is large enough to allow us to have a socially distanced Showcase event.  It is likely we will have a dress rehearsal (blocking), along with 3 shows during the weekend.  Details are being finalized, and we will be communicate with you as soon as they are known.

Any questions, please contact us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com.

NUVO Update

The NUVO Convention in Atlanta scheduled in late January (weekend of January 29) is sold out. Therefore, we will NOT be able to attend NUVO this year. With limited capacity, conventions and competitions are selling out faster than in past years.  Cheryl is working on the convention entry process for RADIX in February (weekend of February 26).   She has heard from Radix that they have been successfully holding conventions with limited capacity, without any cases of COVID linked to the events.

Convention charges not used during the season will be credited to your dancer’s account at the end of the season.     Any questions, please contact FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net.

Vibe Holiday Party Update

Due to Covid, our annual Vibe Holiday Party will look a bit different this year.  Instead of one big party with all dancers, each dance team will have their own Holiday Party.  We want to make sure our girls have a great holiday celebration, but we also want to keep them safe.  This year’s party theme is “Mittens & Masks!”

Jessica McFarland and our holiday party committee have  been busy this week working on games, an activity, and gift exchange ideas that will be provided to Group Moms to try to keep each party consistent across all groups.   Your Group Mom will work with your team to find a date and location that works for everyone.  There will be a “details” communication going out soon to the Group Moms for coordinating the date, etc…..so hang tight on picking a date until you hear from Jessica.

Our Philanthropy Chairs, Susie Koagel and Dayna Thomson, are also working with local charities on ways that we, as a team, can give back to our community and help those in need this holiday season.  More details to come.

Solo, Duo, Trio Privates – Signup Genius Available

Cheryl has created the Solo, Duo, Trio Signup Genius for this year for private rehearsals.   Click here to access the Signup Genius. Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.

You may only sign up for one slot each time new dates are posted. After a week, you may check again and sign up for one more open slot.

Dancers, please remember the following:

  • Please bring your music to the private lesson.
  • Please bring payment ($35 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl or Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
  • If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
  • As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.
