Vibe Parents:

This is a reminder for the Parent “Kickoff of the Season” meeting to be held this coming Tuesday, August 2nd at 6pm at the Studio. It is important for you to attend this meeting so that you can learn about what is being planned for this dance year!

 We will discuss several important items for the 2016-17 Vibe dance year, including:

• General policies and overall expectations for the year
• Board assignments
• Dancer Expectations
• Parent volunteer opportunities and commitments
• General Q&A

Note that this is a parent only meeting (dancers should not attend). Please feel free to bring a blanket or small folding chair to sit in. We anticipate the meeting will run an hour, but depending upon questions, it could run longer.

Note also that we must have a Medical Release Form filled out and on file for your dancer at the beginning of each year. We would like to get this form completed so that it can be turned in at the Parent Kickoff Meeting.   This form is located on our VPC website.  Click here to access the Medical Release Form.  Note: This document is in the password protected section of our website (so you have to enter the new website password to access it.  The password was sent to parents in an email communication on July 9th.) We will also have hard copies of the form available for you to fill out at the Parent Meeting if you don’t have a chance to print it off/fill it out ahead of time (just remember to bring your insurance card so that you can complete the form).

‘NEW TO VIBE’ PARENT MEMBERS:   There will be a New Member informational meeting on Tuesday, August 2^nd, immediately following the Parent Kickoff Meeting.   Please plan to stay for an additional 15-30 minutes if possible. We will cover ‘what you need to know’ if this is your first year to Vibe.

This coming Monday, August 1st,  is “last call” for submitting your dancer’s information for Member Directory and Schedule Conflicts (see earlier web post for links to these forms). A BIG Thank You to all that have already submitted your information!

Finally, if you have not turned in your Vibe Contract Agreement to FootNotes for this 2016-17 dance year, please make sure that this is completed and turned  into the front desk at the studio by this Tuesday, August 2nd as well.

pair2share is a non-profit organization, the brainchild of our very own alumni, Juliana Abel. With the help of two other Vibe alumni, Mekayla Murphy and Meriah Grove, her dream has grown into a reality.

As we are all very aware, our dancers’ footwear can be quite the investment… and often, we find ourselves making those purchases more than once during a “season.”  At times, we can find ourselves stretched by the financial demands of our dancers’ passion… but we all seem to find a way to make it work.  Juliana formed her company, pair2share, for the purpose of collecting gently worn dance shoes from dance studios in our area and passing them along to less privileged dancers in areas that are economically challenged or areas that have recently suffered a material loss due to a natural disaster.
