The Master Calendar has been updated with additional March rehearsals.  These are in addition to the already scheduled March rehearsals.

Reminders:

• You must bring payment ($30 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl, & $35 for Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
• Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.
• Please bring your music to the private lesson.
• If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
• As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

The 2020 Vibe Performance Company Dance Showcase Videos (for both shows) are now available for purchase for a limited time (now through March 1, 2020). This year we are offering an option of DVD or USB Drive as the medium for delivering the video. The videos are great for the dancer who likes to study her dances (and others) over and over again…Perfect for the family member who can’t make that trip to see the Dance Showcase…And, of course, a wonderful keepsake of the performance!

Lanyards…by now, you should have read the Showcase 2020 — Day of Shows Details document which mentions (along with several other really important to do’s for this weekend) the Vibe Lanyard is your ‘backstage pass’ to be allowed in the dressing rooms and backstage areas of the venue.  All Vibe moms must wear their lanyard on both Saturday and Sunday to be allowed backstage.  For those new to Vibe, we will make a smaller version of the list of dances that you can cut and place into the back of your lanyard so you have easy access to the dance order of each show at all times. For Showcase, it is the Show Order.  And we will have the same thing available for competitions once we know their schedule.  The Show Order for your Lanyard has been loaded on the Showcase Member page…it is #8 on the list.  Click here to access the Showcase Member web page.

Showcase is just around the corner!  Since this will be the first time that ALL of the Vibe dancers will be dancing together on stage, we would like for the dancers to fill their BIG or LITTLE SISTER’s ❤️ with love, support and encouragement for the big weekend!

We are providing each dancer with 2 cute crafts to make to “SHOW YOUR LOVE” for their Big or Little Sister this weekend.   Each dancer will receive a scratch art heart & a pom pom buddy.  These crafts will be distributed by group moms this week (whenever your group is at the studio next).  Take these home and create them for your Big or Little Sister.  Then write a note of encouragement, and attach a little token of “something sweet” and share all the love with your Big/Little sister this coming Saturday, February 8. 

****The dancers should give their BIG or LITTLE SISTER the crafts with something sweet, along with a note attached to them on Saturday, February 8 after the Dress Rehearsal. ****

SECOND, as a way to kickoff Showcase weekend, we will be celebrating “Throwback Thursday” this week.  The girls are encouraged to wear their favorite old/throwback costume to dance on Thursday, February 6.  

We have added Dress Rehearsal Order to the Showcase 2020 Member Information web page.  This is the order that dances will be run during Dress Rehearsal on Saturday.  It is #5 on the list of items on this web page. 

We have updated the Showcase — Day of Shows Details document with a few more pieces of information in the Expectations sections for both Dancer and Parent.   Please grab a new copy to review/print out when you have a moment.   It is #2 on the list of items on this web page.

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE UPDATE FOR Tuesday, February 4 for ELITE, PREMIER, OVATION:  Cherrise is not able to come to the studio tomorrow. The alternative Cherrise schedule has been removed from the Master Calendar for February 4.  Cheryl wants these groups to come to the studio for your Tuesday regularly scheduled class times (with the exception of Elite..see time change for tomorrow below):

• OVATION:  5:30pm – 8:45pm
• ELITE:  5:30pm – 9:00pm

• The first document added is called “Showcase – Day of Shows Details.” It covers exact timing and expectations of the dancer and parents on Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9.
• The second document is called “Map & Parking for Denmark High School.” It explains details about where to enter the school, parking for Showcase guests, as well as parking for Vibe members on day of shows.

• Reminder that part 2 of Blocking Day is Friday, February 7 – ALL DANCERS at Denmark High School.   Check the Blocking Day Details document for exact times for your group.
• The Showcase Chairs (Lori Murphy and Linda Nowlin) will start the Parent Meeting at 6pm in the lobby area outside the theatre at the school.  It is mandatory for 1 parent to attend.  
• We have a few positions still open on the Showcase Signup Genius.  We need members to volunteer for at least one position on day of shows.   And, if you can, please consider volunteering for more than one of the available positions….there are a few positions that are left (Ticket Usher on Sunday, Prop Dads both days, Shout Out Sales on Sunday, Clean up tasks – both days, Decorations Committee.)  Thanks for everyone volunteering to assist in making this our BEST SHOWCASE yet!

 March 20 weekend

• There will be rehearsals on the weekend of March 20.   Based on what was submitted as Schedule Conflicts, we will reach out to parents (those in private school whose spring break is this weekend) for details on your dancer’s availability.

More dates to add to your calendars:

Raise the Barre Dance Intensive (which includes auditions for next year’s Vibe dance teams) is confirmed for the week of June 15, 2020.  It is shown as the entire week on the Master Calendar…detailed dates/times will be announced closer to the date.  As always, Raise the Barre will be filled with intensive classes with guest choreographers, as well as FootNotes instructors.  This is a mandatory event for all dancers wishing to audition for the 2020-2021 Vibe Performance Company dance team.   

Nationals Rehearsals for our dancers will be June 20 – 26! These are also mandatory rehearsals. Reserve these dates on your calendar now.  Cheryl will publish a detailed rehearsal schedule by group closer to the date.

These 2 events noted above have been added to the Master Calendar.

Also, for your summer planning, the following weeks will not have required dance activities scheduled.  Per Cheryl, these are the ‘open’/available weeks that she is aware of right now:  weeks of May 25 (must be back by Saturday, May 30 for Recital Dress Rehearsal), June 1, June 8, July 6, July 13, and July 20 (week only…choreography may start on Saturday, July 25).
