Just a reminder to purchase your Dancer Shout Outs for Recital if you have not already done so. We are selling them as a pre-sale item through Friday night, June 4. It’s a great way for family and friends to cheer on your dancer at their Recital performance! Or have your dancer send one to your big or little sister! You can copy and forward the Square website link to your family and friends if they are interested in purchasing a Shout Out.

The Dancer Shout Out will contain your note to your dancer, along with a lollipop candy. **NOTE: Shout Outs will be delivered to your dancer at the 2pm and 6pm Recital shows on Saturday, June 5.   Click here to access the Square website.    When filling out the item, please enter your Dancer’s First and Last Name and your note (up to 150 characters). If you know the name of your dancer’s routine (1 of them is fine to list), please include that in the note field.

Below are Recital details for Vibe dancers, so please read the entire post!   Our 2021 “20 Years” Recital Showcase is Saturday, June 5 with shows at 2pm and 6pm at the Infinite Energy Center.

Info on Dress Rehearsal for Vibe Dancers

• Dress Rehearsals will be on June 1 through June 3 – click here for the Dress Rehearsal schedule that will be held at the Studio. (Note: This is the same Dress Rehearsal schedule that FootNotes sent out earlier this week….we added it here for easy access)
• Note that Vibe Dancers should arrive at the Studio for their Group’s Dress Rehearsal in your ballet costume. Vibe Dancers do NOT need to bring your other group dance costumes. Instead, DO bring regular dance clothes to change into for the remainder of Rehearsal.
• Vibe Dancers do NOT need full competition make-up for Dress Rehearsal. However, Vibe Dancers must have hair styled in a middle part and low bun for their Group’s Dress Rehearsal.

Arrival Time/Info for Recital on Saturday, June 5 (dancers must be 100% stage ready)

For 2pm Show:

• BRAVO and OVATION dancers arrive at 1:30pm for setup of Dream Duffel, etc. for dances in the 2pm show.
• ELITE, ENCORE, PREMIER & PRODIGY dancers (for Production) arrive at 3:00pm.   Dancers should be in your costume/stage ready, stretched and ready to dance. (Do NOT bring Dream Duffel or backpack with you at this time.) Dancers can access the building from the Check-in area and should head backstage through the dressing room area.
• ALL dancers will be released to the front hallway of the venue (near the check-in area).

For 6pm Show:

• ELITE, ENCORE, PREMIER & PRODIGY dancers arrive at 5:30pm for setup of Dream Duffel, etc. for dances in the 6pm show.
• BRAVO and OVATION dancers (for Production) meet at Check-in area at 5:45pm. Dancers should be in your costume/stage ready, stretched and ready to dance. (Do not bring Dream Duffel or backpack with you.) Kelly Willis will meet your dancers at Check-in and will escort them backstage. She will also escort your dancers back to the Check-in area for pick-up after the Production routine is performed.
• As a reminder, parents of those dancers that are only dancing in the Production routine will not be able to sit in the audience for the performance.   

IMPORTANT NOTES TO REVIEW:

• Parents, please note that dancers at the 2pm show must leave the venue in between the 2 shows.  
• MOMS:  If you wish to be backstage during one or both shows, click here to signup to be a Backstage Helper on the FootNotes Signup Genius.  Only moms listed on the FootNotes Signup Genius will be allowed to be backstage.
• HAIRSTYLE:  Dancers should wear the competition hairstyle (middle part, low pony).  Note that all ballet pieces must have a bun.  Dancers will need to transition their low pony into a low bun for their ballet routine.   The bun must be a neat, tight bun.   Once the ballet piece is complete, dancers will transition their hair back to the low pony.  For the younger dancers, the backstage moms will handle this task for the dancers.  For the older dancers, the backstage moms will ‘check’ the dancer’s bun to ensure it is neat and secure.  
  • REMINDER: ALL dancers must bring your hair supplies…a comb, net, hairspray, and bobby pins to create the bun.  A flat iron and brush may be needed to get your dancer’s pony straightened after the bun is taken down.
  • MAKE-UP:  Dancers must wear full competition makeup including lashes and our competition lipstick color.  There is no need to change the color of lipstick for ballet.

Reminder to activate your dancer account in DanceBug which will give you access to livestream, digital program info, and photos/videos of this competition.  NEXSTAR sent Cheryl another link yesterday, so click on this one and follow the steps to make sure your dancer is activated if you have not logged into DanceBug yet.   Click here to access the link.

Live Stream appears to be available through the DanceBug app, as well as through this link on the NexStar website in case your family and friends want to watch on a PC.   

For those that like a hard copy program, we were able to download this from the app this AM.   Click here to access the program if you want a hard copy.   

Note that for returning dancers, the DanceBug app works a little different.  The newer version of DanceBug seems to have a few “bugs”…no pun intended :-).  It appears the newer version has a few more features (like I could download the program), but it does have some quirkiness.   However, both versions allow you to see the Live Stream and the Full Schedule.

This is a reminder to fill out the Audition form for next season, even if you are a current Vibe member. Cheryl needs an accurate count of dancers that will be participating in the upcoming Auditions. Click here to access the Audition form. Auditions will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 15 and 16. There is a $20 audition fee that FootNotes will charge to your account. Below are the details:

• Saturday, May 15th Audition Prep Day ~ This is when students will learn the combos that they will perform in the Audition. Dancers can go home, practice and come back the next day feeling more confident! (Ages 6-9 are from 10:30-11:45am; Ages 10-13 are from 11:45-1:00pm; and Ages 14 & older are from 1:00-2:15pm).
• Sunday, May 16 Audition Day ~ (Ages 6-9 are from 12:30-1:30pm; Ages 10-13 are from 1:30-2:30pm; Ages 14 & older are from 2:30-3:30pm).
• Invitations will be announced shortly after the Audition in May. However, what team you make will not be announced until July 5th.

The Vibe is selling Recital Flower Bouquets and Trophies! 

They are available for sale on Vibe’s online store. Simply place your order, and your flower bouquet and/or trophy will be waiting for you at the Trophy and Flower table in the lobby of the FootNotes recital venue (Infinite Energy Center) on Saturday, June 5 prior to the 2pm and 6pm shows.

We will be selling Trophies and Flower Bouquets during Picture Week as well this Monday through Thursday. You may purchase these items now through Tuesday, May 18 end of day, so get your order in today, and check that one off your end of year “to do” list!   

REMINDER: Don’t forget FootNotes Picture Week starts today! ALL Groups are scheduled at the Studio TODAY for the Production picture at 3:15pm (and Bravo and Elite group pics are before and after that). Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.  

Dancers, please remember the following:

• Please bring your music to the private lesson.
• Please bring payment ($35 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl or Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
• If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
• As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

Cheryl has heard from NexStar (our next competition) about our block schedule time. Our dancers will be competing on Saturday, May 1 with an estimated arrival time at Clayton County Performing Arts Center of 7:30am. Exact schedule will be communicated as soon as we hear details from them.
