About The Vibe

FootNotes Dance Company (The Vibe)

Important LOC Update

Please read below for an update to the check-in process at Clayton County Performing Arts Center this Sunday morning:

The Venue will be requiring temperature checks as well as a wellness check questionnaire via QR code at check-in:

    1. When you arrive at the venue, there will be signs with the QR code posted
    2. Scan the QR code with your phone camera.  This will lead you to the wellness check form that will need to be completed prior to check-in
    3. When filling out  the wellness check form, the location you need to select is “Performing Arts”
    4. Once you have completed the wellness check document, keep it handy to show to one of the check-in attendants at the venue who will then take your temperature

And just in case you missed these:

  • Please remember to bring the clear mask as well as the skin-colored mask your dancer has received specifically for competition.  Have your dancer bring her own mask to wear when she is not on stage.
  • Please remember to sign the LOC Smart Waiver for you and your dancer by end of day, Friday, March 26.  We still have a few dancers that have not been signed for and have reached out to those individuals separately. This waiver is required for entry into the venue/competition.   Click here to access the LOC waiver.
  • Remember to review “all the details” about this weekend’s competition.  Click here to be directed to the password protected League Of Champions 2021 webpage.
  • Write a note of encouragement to “cheer on” your Big or Little Sister this weekend!

See you on Sunday!!

Reminders for LOC this Weekend

A few reminders for this weekend’s competition:

  1. Cheryl will be giving out clear masks to each dancer today (Wednesday) and Thursday.  Please make sure your dancer receives a clear mask as this is likely what our dancers will wear on stage at this weekend’s competition.  There are a couple of “to do’s” for the clear mask that must be completed prior to Sunday’s competition:
    • Please adjust the ear strap to ensure it fits snugly on your dancer’s face.  Make a knot where it will fit snugly behind the ear, and then clip off the excess of the ear strap.
    • Please apply liquid make-up in the shade of your dancer’s skin to the white fabric ear straps on the mask.  Please allow it to dry fully ahead of Sunday’s competition.
    • Dancers will wear lipstick when wearing the clear mask for competitions.   So, please make sure that it is packed with you on Sunday.
    • Please remember to bring the skin-colored mask your dancer received for the Masquerade competition in case it is decided to wear those for this weekend’s competition.  AND, have your dancer bring her own mask to wear when she is not dancing.
  2. Please remember to sign the LOC Smart Waiver for you and your dancer by end of day, Friday, March 26.  It is required for entry into the venue/competition.   Click here to access the LOC waiver.
  3. Remember to review “all the details” about this weekend’s competition.  Click here to be directed to the password protected League Of Champions 2021 webpage.
  4. Big and Little Sisters…please write a note of encouragement to “cheer on” your Big or Little Sister this weekend.

Solo, Duo, Trio Privates – SUG Updated

Cheryl has added more March slots (for next weekend) to the Solo, Duo, Trio Signup Genius.   Click here to access the Signup Genius.

Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.   Please only sign up for 1 slot for the first week the SUG is published.  After a week, you may sign up for a second slot if you wish.

Dancers, please remember the following:

  • Please bring your music to the private lesson.
  • Please bring payment ($35 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl or Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
  • If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
  • As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

League of Champions Update

In case you are checking the League of Champions website, they have posted an initial competition schedule, BUT the order is NOT the order our groups will dance.   We WILL begin competition at 9:40am on Sunday, March 28. The schedule will be updated in the next day or so with a correct order to allow for costume changes.  We will communicate the exact dance schedule as soon as it is finalized.

Masquerade Results & Photos/Videos Available

Click here to access the Masquerade Results & Photos/Videos web page.    It is password protected (with same password as provided at the begin of the season).

We have linked their Results document from their website, as well as provided you with instuctions on how to download pictures and videos.

***Reminder (and please remind your dancers):   Photos may be posted on social media, but DO NOT post videos of any dances until AFTER this competition season is over!

And, 2021-2022 season Choreography may be starting that week as well (and Choreography will likely be scheduled into the week of August 2).  Please keep both weeks of July 26 and August 2 open on your dancer’s calendar.  Again, we will communicate exact day/times as soon as they are available.
