Dress Rehearsal Dates – Master Calendar Update

Dancers and Parents:  It is nearing Show Time, folks!  Showcase Dress Rehearsal dates and times are listed below for all groups.  The Master Calendar has been updated.

  • This is a FULL COSTUME/dress rehearsal at the Studio for both the dancer and mom to learn what will be required with all costumes. It is very important that moms attend at their group’s designated time, especially for the older groups (Applause, Ovation, Premier, Elite), in case there are other alterations needed or undergarments that need to be purchased.   NOTE: If you are unable to attend, please ask another mom in your group to work with your dancer during Dress Rehearsal to relay information to you about any costume adjustments, etc. that are needed for your daughter.  
  • This ‘dress rehearsal’ is when costumes will be tried on, checked for alterations and changes needed, etc. The dancers will run through their dances in the costume to confirm that it is “stage ready.”   Competition Hair and Make-up are not required for this Dress Rehearsal.
  • Please bring ALL costumes (that you have in hand), as well as ALL accessories, ALL shoes, and ALL tights. ***Click here to access the Shoe & Tights Buying Guides web page.***    AND, please make sure that ALL pieces of the costume are labeled with your dancer’s name.
  • Please be on time!   
  • Dancers are still at the studio for all of their same class times on these days.  If there is a class before or after their group’s scheduled Dress Rehearsal time, they will still have that class.

Monday, January 27

  • STARLET Dress Rehearsal (5:00pm – 6:00pm)

We have some FNDA/Vibe swag just in time for Showcase and competition season!  

Photo Buttons

Pin on your pride and joy! We are offering Photo Buttons again this year for our Vibe dancers to show spirit for our girls.  The buttons are 3″ in diameter and will feature a photo of your dancer with a red border that says “FootNotes Dance & Acrobatics” around the outer edge. It can be further customized with your daughter’s name, as an option.  See button example below.

Angela Coppola (Thanks Angela!) will be taking the headshot photos for the photo buttons on the following day/time at the Studio: 

  • Saturday, January 18 from 11:30am – 12:30pm
  • NOTE:  An alternative headshot date has been set for the few dancers that are unable to make the January 18 day and time.  The make-up date for the headshot is this Wednesday, January 15 from 4:00pm to 5:15pm. We prefer that this is used only for those dancers that can not make the January 18 @ 11:30 – 12:30pm time window (so that we do not take up valuable class time during the week).
  • We also realize some dancers are rehearsing during this timeframe.  Cheryl says those dancers that want a button can get their headshots taken in between their rehearsal and the Production rehearsal time.  Just make sure that you arrive at the studio with make-up, hair, etc. per the below.

If you wish to purchase a photo button this year, please plan to come to the studio to have your dancer’s headshot taken during the time listed above.   

What to wear: Please have your daughter wear light stage makeup and her FootNotes jacket, and competition earrings.   

  • UPDATE on competition earrings:   If you have last year’s competition earrings, bring them to use for the headshot.  If you do not, we will have extra earrings to wear for the photo.  (Cheryl is still deciding on competition earrings for this season.)
  • Your Dancer’s hair should be styled neatly in any hairstyle. 

Buttons are $5 each, and we should receive them in time for Showcase.  We will be taking payments (cash or check) when photos are taken on Saturday, January 18 (or on the Wednesday, January 15 make-up date).

Car Magnets

We are also offering the option to purchase a Vibe car magnet if you would like to purchase one for your other car(s), or for your dancer’s car.  They are $5 each.

Orders for the photo buttons will be placed on Sunday, January 19 with anticipated arrival in time for Showcase.   Please make sure that you fill out all fields on the form and submit the form.

Solo/Duo/Trio SUG Updated w/ January Dates

The Solo/Duo/Trio Signup Genius has been updated – January dates for private rehearsals are now available.   Click here to access the Signup Genius.

Reminders:

  • You must bring payment ($30 for a 30 minute session with Cheryl, & $35 for Madison) at the start of each rehearsal.  There is no option to have this charge added to your FootNotes account.  All dancers must pay the instructor directly by either check, Venmo, or cash.
  • Make sure that you note on the Signup Genius whether you are signing up for your dancer’s solo, duo, or trio rehearsal.   Please make sure that only 1 mom or dancer signs up for a given slot for a duo or trio.
  • Please bring your music to the private lesson.
  • If your dancer is unable to attend your booked rehearsal session, you must notify FootNotes at footnotesdance@comcast.net, at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled time.   If you ‘miss’/forget a rehearsal that you have signed up for, you are still responsible for the payment to the instructor.
  • As always, dancers are always free to book an empty room to practice on their own.

The Master Calendar has been updated with the following January (and one day in February) rehearsals…some of the days/times have changed, so make sure you update your calendar per the below. This is everything that is currently scheduled on these dates (but other rehearsals may be added based on how “ready” the piece is).  This is a long web post, so please read through to the end. 

Saturday, January 11

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM CHERYL: Please keep all weekends open…there will be other weekend rehearsals added to the schedule. Just because it is not scheduled right now, does NOT mean a rehearsal won’t be added to the schedule. Cheryl needs to see how the dances are looking to determine if other rehearsals will be added.  

**THIS WEEKEND’S HAIR & MAKE-UP SESSION DETAILS

  • Please bring ALL the items listed in the “Items Needed for Competition” List.  Click here to access the Member Information web page that contains this document. Please inventory your dancer’s supplies to ensure you have all items on hand. The YOFI make-up that was ordered in December will be distributed on Saturday and Sunday.
  • It will be really helpful to have a blanket to spread out your supplies and a stool (or chair) or two for you and your dancer.
  • Cheryl would like for your dancer’s hair to be straightened with a flat iron prior to the Hair & Make-up Sessions on Saturday and Sunday. This is not required if you do not have time prior to these sessions.  But it is suggested since the competition hairstyle will require starting with straightened hair.  If you have never straightened your dancer’s hair, it is a good time to see how long it takes.   NOTE: There are not enough power outlets in the dance room to accommodate everyone’s flat irons at the Hair & Make-up Sessions, so coming with your dancer’s hair straightened is recommended.
  • Please be all set-up with your supplies/blanket/stool and ready to start at the start time listed above for your group.

Competition Tights Info Now Available…

The Competition Tights information by group has been added to the Shoe & Tights Buying Guide web page.  Click here to access the webpage (competition tights link added at bottom of the web page).  These are listed by your dancer’s group.

A few reminders:

       
1. These tights are to be used for competition ONLY and should not be worn in class.
2. Please double check the COLOR when ordering online. Sometimes the link provided may automatically select the incorrect color.
3. It is a good idea to start the season with 3 pair of each tight type needed. You should have at least 2 pair in your bag on every day of competition.

Please have tights in hand by Monday, January 20.

Note to ELITE and PREMIER dancers in the Musical Theater (Thataway!) piece…Cheryl is waiting on the costume to be delivered to determine if different tights and shoes are needed.  We will update you as soon as this information is available.

 

January Schedule will be changing…

Cheryl heard from Ricky Maalouf today that he will be unable to make it to the studio this coming weekend. Therefore, this weekend’s, as well as the weekend of January 17 rehearsal schedule will be changing.   We will publish the updates to the schedule as soon as Cheryl has it finalized, which should be by end of day tomorrow (Wednesday).

Master Calendar Update for Cherrise Classes

The following details the schedule changes for OVATION, PREMIER, & ELITE for the days when there is an Cherrise master class at the studio (days impacted are: January 7, February 4, March 3, March 31, May 5).  Therefore, your dancer’s group may have a different class schedule (times may be different from your dancer’s normal Tuesday class drop off and pickup times).

  • OVATION Hip Hop – 5:30pm – 6:15pm
  • OVATION w/ Cherrise – 6:30pm – 7:30pm
  • OVATION Ballet – 7:45pm – 8:45pm
  • PREMIER Ballet – 5:00pm – 6:15pm
  • PREMIER Hip Hop – 6:15pm – 7:00pm
  • PREMIER w/ Cherrise – 7:30pm – 9:00pm
  • ELITE Ballet – 6:15pm – 7:30pm
  • ELITE w/ Cherrise – 7:30pm – 9:00pm
  • ELITE – No Hip Hop

The Master Calendar has been updated with this information as well.

2020 Vibe Show Order & Ticket Sales Info

The shows are Saturday, February 8 at 4pm and Sunday, February 9 at 3pm.  Venue:  Denmark High School (address: 645 Mullinax Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004)  

Reminders:  Showcase Ticket Sales Information

Get ready to sell tickets to these 2 amazing shows!  Tickets are $23 online for advance purchase, and $28 on day of show.   Here are the details:

  • Showcase Tickets will go on sale via our online ticketing website to Parents of Seniors on Tuesday, January 7 at/around 8am.  Please be on the lookout for an email from the Vibe GMAIL account (not a web post) with Ticket Sales information next Tuesday.
  • Showcase Tickets will go on sale via our online ticketing website to all other Vibe members only on Wednesday, January 8 at/around 8am. Please be on the lookout for an email from the Vibe GMAIL account (not a web post) with Ticket Sales information next Wednesday.    
  • On Monday, January 13, Showcase details will be posted to our website as a web page and web post for general public ticket purchases.  This is the web page you will want to share with your friends and family for ticket purchases.
  • Each member/family is required to sell at least 10 tickets between the 2 shows (the ticketing website allows the dancer name to be entered at the time of purchase for tracking purposes.)

Happy New Year & A Scheduling Note

Happy New Year!!   We are looking forward to seeing everyone next week.  Regular FootNotes Classes resume on Monday, January 6.  

Reminder:  All rehearsals are mandatory from this point forward.

A Scheduling Note for January:  Cheryl is working on times during the week for each group to complete Dress Rehearsals (with full costume and shoes) during the group’s normally scheduled class time.  We will update you on your dance group’s schedule as soon as it is finalized.  Note that Moms are required at the Dress Rehearsal as any minor alterations, fit changes, etc. will be finalized and communicated at that time.
