This is LAST CALL for Spiritwear shirt orders and Radix Waivers.

1. We will be placing the order for Spiritwear with our vendor tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/21) morning.  Click here to access the Order Form if you are interested in purchasing a shirt and have not done so yet.   This is not a required spiritwear purchase.
2. Radix Waivers are due Wednesday, February 21, end of day.   Please  print a copy, fill it out, and bring the waiver form to the studio.  There is a folder for completed forms at the front desk.  Click here to access the Radix Waiver.  As a reminder, this IS REQUIRED paperwork in order for your dancer to participate at Radix, so it must be filled out and turned in by the due date.  Cheryl must turn them in when she registers the Studio on Friday morning.

Hi Vibe Family and Happy Valentine’s Day!

We hope you are ready for a wonderful Showcase this weekend!  While you celebrate all the loves in your lives today, we want to let you know we are extending that theme to our Showcase!  Big and Little Sisters should “Share Your Love” in support of one another on Sunday.  Some ideas to “Share Your Love” with your Big/Little Sis are:  some heart candy with a note, cut out a heart shaped note and attach a flower, some socks with hearts and a cute note, or even a Starbucks drink with some hearts on the cup!  Be creative and remember to “Share Your Love” for Showcase!  

Our Vibe Performance Company 2018 Dance Showcase DVDs are available for purchase for a limited time (now through March 5, 2018). The DVDs are great for the dancer who likes to study her dances (and others) over and over again… Perfect for the family member who can’t make that trip to see the Dance Showcase… And, of course, a wonderful keepsake of the day!

Second, you will note that the Master Calendar has been updated with Raise the Barre week (which includes Vibe Auditions for the 2018-19 season).  It is scheduled for June 18-22. 

Everything you need to know about Showcase Blocking & Dress Rehearsal Day 2018 (Saturday, February 17 at Norcross High School) is now available on the website…please click here to access the Showcase 2018 Member Information web page (password protected, and it is located under the Members Only link at the top of the website).

We have updated the Show Order document to include the dance names (the order did not change).

We also have a Signup Genius if you are willing to volunteer to bring water and/or baked goods (for selling at Concessions) to Showcase on Sunday.  Even if you already spoke with Lori about bringing baked goods, please signup on the Signup Genius.

In an effort to have ‘action items’ easily accessible to our members (and ICYMI), we have created a new web page, called Team “To Do” List, that will list and recap all Signup Genius links, Order Forms, Evites, etc. that are due/need action from our Vibe members.  As the event or deadline passes, the listing will be removed as an action item from the web page.  We will still announce the Signup Genius or Order Form via a web post or an email from the GMAIL account as appropriate, but this page will always contain a recap of what is currently active.

A few reminders about the Signup Genius’ that need urgent attention:

Reminder #1:   We need urgent signups for Painting the Prop this Sunday after the Showcase meeting.

Reminder #2:  We have several sign-ups open on the Showcase 2018 Volunteer signup.  In addition to other volunteer slots that are still open, we have added, per Christy’s request, several slots for Prop Dad assistance for Showcase (both days). We need these volunteer positions filled.

Reminder #3:  The Signup Genius for Solo, Duo, and Trio rehearsals will stay on this page throughout the season.  You can always check this new web page for open slots.  For the first 2 weeks of the month, please book 1 rehearsal slot.  After that, you may book another.

Dancers & Parents:  Let’s get ready for an AWESOME dance season!  Next weekend is a busy weekend, so we have recapped everything for you.  Please review the following for this weekend’s rehearsals at the Studio!  Some of these items require action, so please read and take appropriate action on ALL bullet points.

Saturday, February 3 – Dress Rehearsal (Costume Check)

• This is a full COSTUME/dress rehearsal at the Studio for both the dancer and mom to learn what will be required with all costumes.   If mom cannot be there at the group’s designated time(s), please find a mom to assist with your daughter. This ‘rehearsal’ is when costumes will be tried on, checked for alterations, changes needed, etc. The dancers will run through their dance in the costume to confirm that it is “stage ready.”  Please bring all costumes (that you have in hand), as well as accessories, tights and ALL shoes.
• The dancers should come with their hair styled in this year’s competition hairstyle (competition make-up is not required).  Click here for the competition hairstyle tutorial document.     Please be on time, as you can see below this is a long day.
• This is a reminder of the schedule for Saturday, February 3: 
  • PREMIER Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, & Production – 10:00am – 11:00am

Sunday, February 4

• As a reminder, there is a Showcase Prep Meeting on this day (February 4) at 12noon – 1:00pm at the studio. This is a mandatory (at least 1 parent) meeting.  This replaces the mandatory parent meeting that we usually have on Blocking Day.
• CALLING all PAINTERS: OUR PRODUCTION PROP NEEDS A ‘NEW LOOK’!  We need volunteers (Moms and/or Dads) to stay after the Showcase meeting to help paint the production prop.   It’s a large prop, but “many hands will make quick work.”  Christy says you do not need to be an artist…just know how to roll on paint. •  We will also take Photo Button headshots on Sunday, February 4.  Please click here for a reminder on the Photo Button detail that was explained in a web post earlier today.  Angela Coppola will be taking headshot pics of the dancers at the following times:
  • 9:50am for PREMIER dancers
  • 10:45am for ELITE dancers
  • 11:30am for BRAVO and OVATION dancers
  • If you want a photo taken, you should have your dancer wear light make-up, and her hair should be in a neat, high bun.  Dancers should wear their white Vibe jacket and competition earrings.
  • Note that you only need to have a photo taken of your daughter if you want a photo button.
  • Buttons are $5 each, and you will receive them in time for Showcase…so order extra if you have extended family coming to see the show!  Payment is due (cash or check payable to “The Vibe”) when your dancer’s photo is taken.  
• Reminder of the Dancer Rehearsal Schedule:
  • PREMIER Lyrical – 10:00am – 11:00am
  • ELITE & PREMIER Hip Hop – 11:00am – 12noon
  • ALL GROUPS:  Full Production – 12noon – 2:00pm

Photo Buttons

Pin on your pride and joy! We are offering Photo Buttons again this year for our VPC dancers to show our spirit for our girls.

The buttons are 3″ in diameter and will feature a photo of your dancer with a red border that says “FootNotes Dance & Acrobatics” around the outer edge. It can be further customized with your daughter’s name, as an option.  See button example below. Angela Coppola will be taking the headshot photos during a rehearsal day on Sunday, February 4 (schedule for your group is outlined below). Please have your daughter wear light stage makeup and her FootNotes jacket, and competition earrings.   Your Dancer’s hair should be pulled back in a neat, high bun (think recital hairstyle).

Buttons are $5 each, and you will receive them in time for Showcase…so order extra if you have extended family coming to see the show!  We will be taking payments (cash or check) when photos are taken on Sunday, February 4.

Headshots will be taken at the following times on Sunday, February 4 at the Studio.

Lanyards

FNDA Lanyards (for keeping your name tag and dance schedules) are also available should returning Vibe members need a new one.  Lanyards are available for purchase at $2/each.   For New Vibe Members:  1 lanyard will be given to each NEW Vibe family, free of charge.

IMPORTANT UPDATE – CHANGE OF VENUE:  Hot off the presses…we have moved the Showcase venue to Norcross High School. The show date is the same (Sunday, February 18 is the show date, with dress rehearsal and blocking day on Saturday, February 17.)   The show times will be at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Showcase Ticket Sales Information

Let’s get ready to sell tickets to our dancers’ 2 amazing shows!  Here are the details:

• Showcase Tickets will go on sale to Vibe members only on Wednesday, January 24 at 12noon.  This is priority ticket sales for our Vibe members.  Please be on the lookout for an email (not a web post) with Ticket Sales information this Wednesday/tomorrow midday.      
• On Thursday, January 25, Showcase details will be posted to our website as a web page and web post for general public ticket purchases.  This is the web page you will want to share with your friends and family for ticket purchases.
