We have several Master Calendar updates to share with you regarding upcoming choreography dates.  Unfortunately, we do not have times yet.  These have been added to the Master Calendar as placeholder dates.  These are not confirmed yet, but are possible dates for choreography for each group listed.  Cheryl is waiting on confirmation of dates and times for each group from the choreographers.  We will update you as soon as the dates/times are confirmed.

Possible Dates for Choreography

• August 11 and 12:  ELITE, OVATION, PREMIER – Placeholder for these group dances may be choreographed – Jon Carr will be in the studio.
• August 18 and 19:  BRAVO – Jazz dance will be choreographed (these are ‘for sure’ dates).
• August 24 and 25:  ELITE, OVATION, PREMIER – Placeholder for these group dances may be choreographed for Jazz.
• September 7-9: 
  • BRAVO, OVATION – Tap dances will be choreographed on these dates (these are ‘for sure’ dates).
  • ELITE, OVATION, PREMIER – Placeholder for these group dances may be on this weekend for Jazz choreography.
  • ELITE – Tap will be choreographed on these dates (these are ‘for sure’ dates).
  • ELITE & PREMIER – Optional Musical Theater will be choreographed (these are ‘for sure’ dates). Elite Dancers, you will be receiving an email asking if you would like to participate in this optional dance.
• Weekends of September 21-23 & September 28-30: ELITE, OVATION, PREMIER – Placeholder for these group dances may be choreographed – Jon Carr and Cherrise Wakeham will be in the studio on these weekends.
• October 6 and 7:  Placeholder for solos and a small group – Jon Carr will be in the studio.

“Parent Kickoff” Meeting

• Mark your calendar…the Parent Kickoff Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 18 at 10am at the Studio. Lots of “company” information will be shared. We anticipate the meeting will run 1.5 hours, but depending on questions, it could run longer.  This is a mandatory meeting so please make every effort to attend.  Also, a “New to the Vibe” Parent Meeting will immediately follow the Parent Kickoff meeting.  Please plan to stay an additional 15-30 minutes if possible.  We will cover all that you need to know if this is your first year in Vibe!
  • Note that this is a parent only meeting (dancers should not attend).  Only 1 parent needs to attend, but both are welcome!
  • Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
  • Bring your phone and/or calendar notebook as Cheryl will have competition/convention/workshop dates and other information to share with us.
  • Your Vibe Parent and Dancer Contract Agreement to FootNotes for this 2018-19 dance season is due.   If you haven’t already turned this document in, please make sure that this is completed and turned into the front desk at the studio by August 18th as well.

 For the ELITE Small Group Hip Hop “TBD By Ricky*:  this means that Ricky Maalouf will select the small group that he wishes to use in this dance.  An email invite will be sent to you if you are selected to be in this piece.   

Reminder:   Schedule Conflicts are due today, July 23…we need to hear from  you TODAY if you have not already entered your dancer’s conflict dates/times in.   Cheryl needs these ASAP as she is trying to plan weekend choreography schedules, etc. for August and September.    If you have other conflicts that come up later in the dance year, we will give you the opportunity to add to your conflicts with a separate entry form.  So, please enter any conflicts that you know about right now ASAP TODAY.  We want to hear from everyone to ensure that Cheryl has a complete view of the conflicts so that she can try to schedule the groups around them.  Even if you have no conflicts, please fill out the form with N/A in all months.   You can access the Schedule Conflicts google form from the Team To Do List webpage (as a reminder this page is password protected, and the Members Only password for the website can be found in the Welcome email that was sent out on Monday, July 16).

Please remember also that the Solo, Duo, Trio, Small Group Interest and the Member Directory forms are due on August 1, so if you have not filled those out yet, please do that as well.  You can access these google forms from the Team To Do List webpage as well.

Schedule for Friday, July 6th – Finale Show (begins at 12noon)

• Catherine Fisher, Avery Nowlin, Ellie Schmidt, and Sarah Traub were selected at the regional competition by judges to perform in the Opening Ceremony of the Finale.   They have rehearsed over 12 hours during this week  and will perform in the “New York State of Mind” production piece.     Let’s all show our support and FootNotes spirit to cheer on these AMAZING dancers.

The following dances were selected for Friday’s Finale show, in order:

• Lost Girls (Elite small group) – part of the Senior division National Champion Dance Off
• Walk  It Off  (Premier) – part of the Teen division National Champion Dance Off
• Ball (Premier & Elite) – Teen Encore performance
• Legit (Elite small group) – Senior Encore performance

• Lay Here (Avery, Avery, Kaia) – National Champion Duo/Trio Dance Off

BRAVO & OVATION – Please be at venue STAGE READY (hair and makeup done) at  3:00pm sharp!

We have not been given any times for these dances…only the order has been provided.  Note that the complete order of events has been posted on Masquerade’s Instagram page.

**Parade of Studios – ALL DANCERS will participate in the Parade, wearing FootNotes Nationals spiritwear and black bootie shorts or black athletic shorts and will be barefoot.  Please make sure to bring this outfit with you to the venue.  Details on the parade will be provided tomorrow by Cheryl and Christy.

Reminder:   Our theme for Friday is “Living the Luau/Beach Life!”

Venue Update:  Signs are posted on the front doors that no food/drink is allowed inside the venue.  Light concessions will be available.

Calling ALL Dancers ~~ Let’s celebrate an AWESOME week of all of your hard work for Nationals Rehearsals with a COOL ICE treat from Kona Ice!

The Kona Ice truck will arrive at FootNotes at 3:30pm this Friday to serve an icy treat to all of our dancers!

Also, to show our FootNotes/Masquerade Dance Nationals spirit, we will also have car paint markers available for anyone that wants to decorate their cars in prep for the trip to Fort Walton Beach!  Let’s REPRESENT FootNotes in Florida this coming week!

And last, your Nationals Spiritwear and towels will be ready/available for pickup this Friday afternoon at 3pm at the Studio.  Please plan to pickup the items you purchased at dropoff/pickup of rehearsals.
