About The Vibe

FootNotes Dance Company (The Vibe)

Dinner at the Beach Anyone?!

Fort Walton Beach, here we come!  We have organized TWO dinner gatherings!  Read on….there are lots of details.

First, we need to know your interest in each of these events, and we are collecting advance payment by this Monday (June 25) end of day so that we can get these 2 events booked.  We know it is a quick turnaround, but we need firm numbers and payment in advance, so please help us out and respond ASAP.
Dinner #1 – This is an OPTIONAL event

Date:  SUNDAY, July 1, 6:00pm – 9:00pm at The Gulf (www.thegulf.com)

The Gulf is a casual chic restaurant located Beachside right behind the Emerald Coast Convention Center. We will be dining outdoors.  The outdoor area has sofas and communal dining tables along with ping pong and sand plus places to just chill out. The menu there features local ingredients with gulf seafood and regional farmers’ proteins.

We have constructed two buffet menus for adults and kids. The adult buffet has beef brisket, grilled shrimp, black beans, Spanish rice, a veggie selection and toppings include Chipotle Slaw, Shaved Jalapenos, Cotija Cheese, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Guacamole, pickled red onions.

The kid buffet is similar, but chicken and shrimp and toppings that are more kid friendly, and we believe french fries or some other starch will be provided. Still working on that with the chef!

Key Lime Pie for dessert; and iced tea, soft drinks and bottled water are included.

For adult beverages (21 and over), you will be able to start your own tab at the bar….they are not included in this price.
Adult Buffet Price – $26.50
Kid (12 and under) Buffet Price – $18.50

Again, this is an optional event for Vibe families, but with it being 4th of July week, we wanted to see if we could make it easy for everyone so you don’t have to worry about reservations that night!!  You will note that this event is dependent on weather as we must be seated outside.    NOTE: If it rains enough that we cannot have the event outside at the restaurant, your payment will be refunded.

Click here to access the Square website to pay for this event if you wish to attend.  We need your payment by Monday, June 25 end of day so that we can book an accurate number of people attending.

Dinner #2 – VIBE END OF YEAR PARTY !!!

Date:  Wednesday, July 4th, 7:00pm – whenever at The Waterscape Condos Pool

This is our traditional End of Year Party where we will celebrate our two graduating seniors and thank our Prop Dads, Group Moms and other support personnel.  We would love to see all of Vibe in attendance!

We are having Moe’s Southwest Grill cater our End of Year Party at the pool at the Waterscape Condos. Through our collective fundraising efforts this year, we are able to pay for ALL the Vibe dancers, plus one adult/guest per dancer.  Additional family members will be $14/per person.

The Menu will be a Taco Bar with steak and chicken, black beans, rice, all the usual toppings plus chips and queso, cookies and sweet tea.  You can bring your own beverage of choice or purchase from the bar at the pool if you so choose.

Vibe Dancer plus one parent/guest – FREE
Additional family members $14/per person

***IMPORTANT NOTE FOR THIS EVENT:  If you are staying anywhere outside of the Waterscape Condos, you will need to email us so that we can get you and any family members a wristband to access the pool area! Please email us at footnotesdanceblog@gmail.com with the number of wristbands you will need once you have completed your order on the website.

Please click here to access our website where you can pay for each of the events that you/your family will attend.   We have to pre-book both of these events, so we must know how many persons are attending.   Our booking will be based on the number of persons attending each event, so it is important to complete your payment by Monday, June 25 end of day, so that your family members are included.

COME ALIVE…Recital Info Details

Recital Info for Vibe Dancers…

We wanted to recap recital details for Vibe dancers.   Our 2018 Come Alive Recital Showcase is Sunday, June 3 with shows at 2pm and 7pm at the Infinite Energy Center.   And Dress Rehearsals will be on Saturday, June 2 at 2pm and 7pm.   Click here for Recital Show Order.
  • Arrival Time for ALL Vibe dancers is 12:30pm for both Dress Rehearsal and Recital Day.
  • BRAVO & OVATION do not need to attend the 7pm show’s dress rehearsal, unless you have a non-Vibe class in the 7pm show.  Dancers will not rehearse Production in the 7pm show dress rehearsal.   All dancers will run ballet for the costume change at the 2pm show, but only Elite and Premier will run it at the 7pm show.
  • NOTE:  Dancers at the 2pm show must leave the venue in between the 2 shows at both the Dress Rehearsal and Recital.  Your dancer may stay at the venue in between shows IF she has adult supervision (if your group wants to bring in food/eat together at the venue). Dancers need to be show ready by 6pm sharp each day for the 7pm show.
  • Hairstyle:  High Pony (no French braid in the middle), for both Dress Rehearsal and Recital.  Hair must be straightened.  Hair tie must match your dancer’s hair color (no need to wrap hair around the hair tie).  There should be no part in the dancer’s hair.  For the ballet piece, the dancers will need to have their high pony transitioned into a high bun.  The bun must be a neat, tight bun (NOT messy).
    • Ballet is the first dance of Act 2, so moms need to check/do the bun for your dancer at Intermission (or ask…ahead of time…another mom to do it for you).  For those dancers assisting with rec classes in the 2pm show (Elite and Premier), please start with hair in a straight pony, and have your dancer bring her bun/hair accessories with them so that your dancer can stay with her assigned rec dancer group, and get her hair transitioned into and out of the bun at the appropriate time.  Your dancer’s hair should be in a bun for the least amount of time to avoid crimping the pony.   See Group Mom email for further details on this.
  • Makeup:  On Saturday for the Dress Rehearsal, light makeup is acceptable/full stage makeup is not required.  On Sunday for the Recital, dancers must wear full competition makeup.   This includes lashes and our competition lipstick color.  There is no need to change it for ballet.
  • Vibe Dancers will assist with escorting rec dancers to their appropriate rooms, etc. at both the Dress Rehearsal and Recital.  Some Elite and Premier dancers will be assisting with the rec classes at the 2pm show (a list of rec class assignments will be sent out this coming week.)  Dancers are to check-in with Christy as soon as they arrive.

Let’s all work together to make our COME ALIVE Recital Showcase be our best recital yet!

Big/Lil Sis Update for KAR

  • It’s that time again…. Competition weekend is right around the corner. Let’s not forget about our fabulous BIG & LITTLES.  Make sure your dancer picks up a pair of white sunglasses and a cut out pink car this Wednesday at the studio (at the front desk).  Dancers need to decorate the sunglasses with anything that they would like to use. Be Creative!
    ~jewels
    ~permanent markers
    ~rhinestones
    ~paint pens, etc.

Also, please have your dancer write a good luck note which is to be written on the PINK CAR that your dancer will be picking up with the sunglasses. Have fun creating these, dancers!
